The doors are steel.
You are correct. I assumed they were aluminum because I was washing my truck and put too much pressure on the wash mitt apparently and the metal pushed in (no damage, but still). Never had that issue with my old truck

Honestly, I don’t feel this way at all about my ‘21 XLT. I guess it’s one of those things some are more sensitive to than others. I think mine feel solid.

I have a 2020 Ranger Lariat Crew Cab and my doors sound solid when I close them. It was born on 3/20/20. I had a loaner back in November that was a 2020 XLT Crew Cab and was born in October, I found those doors to be tinny sounding when closed.

My 2020 lariat does it too. Its even more noticeable when one of the other doors is open..
I tried softer shutting of the doors and i get door adjar lights.. darn it.. guess i need a medium force shut..

I’d try to have the dealer look at it. My doors sound very solid when I close them (2020 lariat)
Stephen, mine sound the same as yours, and it's a lowly STX. Jay, stop by your dealer. Maybe they can give you some help.

Same here. Our 2020 SCab doors are all solid. Even with a window or door open.

Must be a SuperCrew thing? Our 2019 SuperCab sounds rock solid when the door closes.

Yeah we apparently are the only ones lol I've never felt like it sounded cheap.
Reading elsewhere and here, I am thinking that it must have been a Friday afternoon at end of shift when my Ranger was built and they just missed it, where others like yours were properly sound proofed/tuned.

My $25K Subaru sounds solid and well built compared to my new $42K Ranger. I'm convinced Ford assembly missed it.

For sure. Going to go back to the dealer and compare other models and see what they say. My guess is they will tell me to kick rocks.

I have a 2019 and mine sounds solid.
It sounds like 2019 were solid, then half of the 2020's were crap, and 2021 solid again. I'm guessing Covid related and rushed assembly when they were allowed.
