I took mine to a shop after doing a poor job of installing myself, they adjusted the preload from there. Iirc they come stock at 2.5” lift which should be about level. Adjusting shouldn’t be necessary.
What size tires are you running at the stock settings?

Just picked this up yesterday. Have had my eye on one for awhile now. Finally got the go ahead from the boss (wife) ?. Within 4 hrs of owning it I had the fox 2.0 kit from Ford. I will continue to update the project as I move along. Any insight would be very helpful. Looking to run 33s.

Dude! Really?!?! When you wrote "Boss", did you really think we didn't read "wife"? You felt you needed to take those parentheses out for a spin?
Don't you get how many guys on this site are married to their bankers?

Congrats on you new truck. Sorry to hear about your suddenly shrinking savings.

Just sayin'....

with the level, you can go as big as you want. The issues you’ll run into first are crash bars, fender liner, and wheel offset. I had 35s with 1.5 inch spacers and the fox suspension.

This just hit me:
Of all my divorced friends, there was one thing in common.
Truck owners.
Not just any truck owner either, ones who modified their trucks.

Happy wife, Happy life.
for every dollar you spend on the truck, spend 2 dollars on her.

Thank you for the information. I was planning on deleting the crash bars. The offset and some of the other details is what I’m trying figure out and how/what needs to be done.

Is it just me or does the preload seem very minimal set from Fox? Can anyone see what preload they have in the 2.0 system to compare? This is the tuned by Ford set. I have also got a picture of the spring in the even someone has a kit directly from Fox we can see if the springs are the same. I have seen a discussion about that as well.

Has anyone done the Ford Fox 2.0 kit and have any recommendations on leaving it at the factory set preload or increased it?
Any higher than 2.5" and you'll need aftermarket upper control arms.

My stuff:
Tailgate damper.
Mountains 2 Metal lower grille insert.
Stubby antenna, OE got beat up on my garage door.
Black tailpipe tip. I cut 8" off the tailpipe so you don't see it inside the tip.
Console insert tray. Makes console more space efficient.
Weathertech mats.
Weathertech bug deflector.
Ford Accessories side stripes.
Truxedo Truxport tonneau.
Line Of Fire rear light bar.
Painted tow hooks body color (blue).
Blue Ranger letter inserts for grille.
Tinted side and rear windows.
Truxxx 1.5" level kit, not installed yet.

If you use carplay, I'd recommend the Dirk wireless charger + wireless carplay adapter.

Also look into StartX - your factory fob will remote start with lock-unlock-lock pattern.

So you have 2.5” of the threads showing? Is that what you are saying?

No, 2.5" of lift.
So that’s not the preload. I am looking only for the preload or amount of threads are exposed on the shock body.
