Fanfriggentastic build man. Love what you've done. <3. Really thinking of doing that FP tune now that I've seen such great reactions on it. Following this tread for SURE!
Thanks! It's been fun to see it come together. As you know, it's an ever evolving thing haha.

Still awaiting wheels :crying:...In the meantime finally installed the Diode Dynamics Pro fog lights. A straightforward install but a pain in the ass because the space is super tight. FYI, I only removed the wind dampeners and reached my hand/tools up from the bottom. Oh, and whoever aligned/drilled the holes on the FX4 wind dampeners should be taken out back and shot! Decided in the end to delete those pieces since it was something I was considering anyway.

This is similar to what I am doing with my grille right now. The only difference on the grille is I was going to keep the surrounding trim with the "RANGER" black. My bumper is also black and it is a Tremor grille with the red inserts.

Hello all!! Okay, where to start...Can't believe it's been nearly two years since my last post on my build thread. Time flies! So, there have been a couple upgrades to the truck during that time, not many, but more to come now that I plan to hold onto it for a long while. Plus, I don't drive a lot these days, so sitting at less than 15k miles on the truck (two services). Figure it's cheaper to enjoy upgrading this truck than take on the cost of a new one.

List of upgrades since August of 2021:
  • Bilstein 6112/5160 kit (leveled 2")
  • Borla cat back exhaust - highly recommended!
    • Love the sound of the exhaust! Perfect for this truck. The black dual tips look very nice.
    • 1684358070468.png
  • Bushwhacker Fender Flares (paint matched)
  • LED side markers
    • These were an extra pain in the ass since the fender flares needed finagling to fit.
    • 1684358351084.png
  • Mishimoto Cold Air Intake
Planned upgrades in the works:
  • TurboSmart BOV
  • Ikon UCAs
  • Locally built rock sliders
  • Hornblasters air compressor and Rhino horn
  • Lightforce Auxiliary switch fascia/switches
  • XS Power battery
  • Sponsored :handsinair:sound system upgrade:
    • JL Audio Stealthbox (10")
    • Focal ES165K speaker kit (x2)
    • Mosconi Aerospace DSP
    • JL Audio HD750 Amp
    • JL Audio HD600 Amp (x2)
    • PAC AmpPro AP4-FD31 Amplifier Interface
    • SoundSkins deadening
  • Undercarriage coating (Steel-It polyurethane/Blaster Surface Shield)
Will try to catalog the upgrades as things move along now that I've fired up Joi's thread again! Will definitely see folks around the forums since I'm sure to have many questions! Here's a quick picture of how the truck sits today...

Update!

Both the TurboSmart BOV and Ikon UCAs have been installed!

To me, the BOV is kind of a waste as you cannot hear it even when put under moderate load. There may be BOVs that have better sound, so I'm telling myself that it will manage the air better than the OE part.

The UCAs on the other hand was a worthwhile upgrade over stock, as it will return the geometry back to a neutral position. Upon inspection of the OE UCAs, I could tell that the bushings were under more stress than they probably should've been.

All in all, thumbs up for the UCAs and a meh for the BOV. Now on to the rock sliders tomorrow! Will have pictures to follow.

Quick update. The work on the fabbed rock sliders took most of the day and coming along great. The guy doing the work runs his business out of his garage, so it’s cool to have custom sliders.

Will be frame/bolt mounted. Due to the box frame, in order to achieve proper torquing, plates are being fabricated to disperse the load. This includes additional plates with welded nuts for the bolts to screw into. Avoids cutting into the frame. This setup will be plenty stout while still allowing me to remove them if needed.

Here’s a couple pictures of the fit up before final weld out and painting (Steel-It polyurethane). Final installation tomorrow and will have a few more pictures once completed.

Rock sliders are complete and in. Love how they came out. Here's a couple pictures.

If anyone is in/near San Diego and interested in a custom set of sliders, let me know.
