Well that's concerning, hopefully this doesn't become a widespread issue as everybody gets out of warranty.

It should not affect your truck. Ford addressed this in 2020 with a service bulletin but not a recall. I'm pretty sure all Rangers after mid-2020 got the new climate control module.2021 Tremor Owner. My dash makes a very audible click snap type noise on auto climate. Almost sounds like a small pebble hitting the windshield going down the freeway. Happens every day. Heat still works? Hopefully I do not run into an issue this summer with AC.
Still possible he could have an issue. Best thing he can do is take it to the dealership and have it checked outIt should not affect your truck. Ford addressed this in 2020 with a service bulletin but not a recall. I'm pretty sure all Rangers after mid-2020 got the new climate control module.
I used to be that guy in my tech days. I loved dash work. As long as I took a bunch of mental notes and kept focus, took pictures, and left alone, it was gravy work to me.I had this issue with my 2019 and they replaced the entire assembly under warranty about a year ago. I bet this would not be a cheap repair as the Service Writer sent me an update to my phone with pictures of my truck with the seats pulled out and the dash stripped out to the firewall. It has worked fine since.
My son is a Chevy tech and he uses his phone to take pictures when things start to get crazy!Had this done to my Jeep ZJ. It was a huge pile of parts and fasteners.
Wonder how techs remember where all the different fasteners go ?
I’m a supporter of “shit happens”. I’m having the same issue and parts are on order for mine. You could have issues with any vehicle or no issues at all.Add another one to the list.2019 with just over 25,000 miles. Hot as hell on driver side and can't turn down the temp, passenger side adjusts fine. Think i'm just going to throw in the towel with this one and trade it in on a non-ford.That is if i can get anything out of it with the friggen amount of issues that will show up on the carfax. I have had problem after problem with this thing, it is actually the worst truck i have ever owned. It pains me to say that because i have been a lifelong Ford guy. I have Ford hot rods, and a garage full of old ford parts, but i'm done with their new crap.I hate being a debbie downer, but pretty frustrated at this point.
I agree with you, mechanical things are not perfect, and sometimes things go wrong. But to have these many issues on a brand new vehicle inside of two years is unacceptable. I purchased a brand new vehicle to get the reliability that often doesn't come with a used vehicle. Warrenty or not, it isn't worth paying for something that continually has to go in to dealership to be repaired, and lose future value when you decide to sell or trade it in. Loved the truck when i bought it, now I look forward to getting rid of it. Anywhoo, i have an appointment at my dealership for next friday to have it diagnosed. Bottom line is you have to do what you feel is best for you.
Fair reasoning but also understand this. When you buy the first year of a new model vehicle regardless of manufacturer there is a high risk of multiple failures. The general rule of thumb is the issues get taken care of within the first couple of years but not always.I agree with you, mechanical things are not perfect, and sometimes things go wrong. Exactly my thinking.I've seen this video an if I were having the problem out of warranty an looking at $2K or more for a complete replacement I'd do the blend door actuator module change too. This could turn out to be a temp fix. If it's warped an causing binding it will eventually wear the new motor out too.
I can change the door for 40 bucks once every few years a lot easier than I could shell out $2K.

It not the entire box, just tue air distribution portion of tue box. And yes it is due to it warping.Even though my Ranger seems to be working fine throughout this winter, I feel like its going to be screwed up again come spring time when the temps start to fluctuate more.
Still not excited to possibly have the dash pulled, but my SYNC screen needs to be replaced under warranty as well.
Why are they replacing the entire heater box? It warps somehow?
