I'm really on the fence about getting this fixed at the dealer even though I'm still under warranty. Last spring my driver's side would not cool down until I turned the heater completely off. This spring it is sort of working. The driver's side temp will cool down, just not as much as the passenger's side. So I wonder if I should just get the blend door actuator replaced. I REALLY don't want some disgruntled mechanic ripping the entire dash out of my Ranger, and then slapping it all back together, causing a bunch more squeaks and rattles. There's a 150% chance it will never be the same.

You are aware you can choose the dealer to get this addressed at right? Well if you have that option.

Also inhad it dont to my truck and never had an issue. If there is anything I have learned with Ford and Nissan, its the fact they both made dash work real easy

There is one Ford dealer where I live, and they are VERY busy. It takes a month if you try to schedule an oil change.

I should probably just deal with the consequences and get it done. If they screw a bunch of stuff up, they will have to fix it. Or maybe I just trade for a Ranger Raptor next year

Damn.

First time this year to turn on the AC and what do you know, only cold air coming out of the passenger vents. Warm air blowing on the drivers side.
WTF?
I’ve had no noises coming from the dash involving air circulation but it looks like something is not opening and I have this known issue.

Warranty past 36k but just under3yrs.

Damn.

The Fordbossme tech just posted a video on YouTube on this. Looks like it will be continued.

After a two weeks with 10 days of just sitting on their lot I picked my truck up today. Everything looks and feels good, even the floor heat which has always been dismal is much improved.

My ticket says they replaced the Heater Assy #KB3Z - 18478 - B which looks like the climate control modules is mounted on. They could offer no more info and I couldn’t speak to the tech.
For now all is well and this was covered under warranty, which expires next month or in 500 miles.

I did request they see if warranty would cover my baggy leather seats, I’m SOL on that, claiming it’s normal wear.

Just dropped of my truck to have this repair done. I’ll let you know how long it takes, if it fixes the issue and if my dash has any new noises.
Good deal. My dealership ordered the parts, so I'm waiting now for them to come in so i can get it fixed. Thanks for the updates.

Day 1 update: Truck sat in the exact spot in the parking lot where I dropped it off until 4:45 today. They then pulled it into the garage Why have an appointment if they’re not even going to work on it?!?

My son is a tech at the Chevy dealer next door and was giving me updates.

This is one of the reasons why people get annoyed at dealers.

Some might consider this an added benefit but since having my truck back the ASS hasn’t worked. Possible they missed plugging something in?

Guess I’ll leave it for another two weeks to get that straightened out.

4/7 edit
I called to set up a time to go back to the dealer today but for whatever reason the ASS just started working later this afternoon.
What’s odd is I have been seeing the indicator light come on but it’s color was gray, motor never shut off. Then this afternoon it popped up green and the motor shut off.
Beats me but it’s working for now and not rattles or signs the dash was ever out.
4/8 edit
Well crap. Appears it’s intermittent or conditions aren’t exactly right for it to work. Beginning to wonder if my battery is failing? Warranty about up, better get that checked.

Just dropped mine off for this issue.

Hopefully parts will be available, along with a new parking brake boot.
Update: The tech said No Problem Found even though I showed the problem to the service writer when I dropped it off.

I'm going to cycle the HVAC through every mode every time I drive it and see if I can physically break something in there.

Had this repair done as well. Took a while to get me in. I took a video with audio to capture the clicking when turning it on and off that they said helped cause by the time they got me in it was no longer clicking. May want to request a loaner as it took them 4 business days to diagnose, get the part and repair.

All it takes for the service bulletin to apply is a DTC set and the job will be covered. Sounds to me like the tech did not want to do it

That was my first thought as well.

Looked at what work was required and said "Nope. Not today."

Can I pull those codes myself, if he didn't clear them that is?
