I have been 100% Sport mode since the last oil change , 2000 miles or so ... went from 19.9 mpg to 19.7 mpg , check oil the other day and zero increase on the dipstick and for the first time since ive had it , NO FUEL SMELL ! All my hard shifts and especially the "did somebody just hit me in the rear?" clunk when coming to a stop are all gone , i will NEVER use D again under ANY circumstances... there is a few spots when cruising at 30 or 40 that it hangs a little on the rpms but slight throttle will make it shift ... takes a little getting used to finding reverse though , one more click to get there...
I think you need to reset your TCM Transmission Control Module (Google It)

About once a month when merging onto a busy highway. I turn it on well back while on the cloverleaf, just in case I need to perform a magic trick dealing with the suicidal drivers I'm merging into.
The rest of the time it never crosses my mind to use it. I'm either driving to work or to my fly fishing river, I don't need Sport mode for either one lol.

Sport mode for curvy mountain roads. Tow-haul for the rest.
Can confirm! Back in 2019 when I got my first Ranger, I took a trip out to the northwest most point of Washington State, and hitting those curves in sport mode with no traffic was one of the most fun driving experiences I've had.

I rarely use sport mode because I'm tuned. I only use sport when I want to "stop light race", which isn't racing anyone just me wanting to have a little fun on a deserted back road.

I use sport mode at all times below 55 mph. When I drive the really twisty roads the Ozarks are known for , I will use the gear selector button on the shifter for "manual style" up and down, engine braking and acceleration.....?.....I call it Sport Plus Mode....

Im gonna assume yours will come back at 0 % , as mine will now because of my "Sport mode fix" for the ""fuel in oil"" problem that has been there from the beginning ... Hell , it may be a TSB from Ford one day and id like the credit ...(if yours does come back all fuelly , could you convincingly lie about it so i look good ? )
Engines just aren't designed to run at 1,000 rpm all the time, hit an incline and instead of downshifting (ya know, use those 10 gears they stuff into the trans) just hold a high gear, lose speed and drop to 900 rpm. Sport mode isn't even sport afaic, it is normal mode for vehicles made before 2000. Drive is Eco-mode, aka you get 0.5 better mpg but your engine lasts 50,000 miles less. Like with that auto start-stop bullshit I disabled on day one.

Same for me. I rarely use Sport after the tune.

I'm rural, mostly 55mph roads, so I don't have much traffic to deal with or traffic lights. I have a heavy foot, so in most cases D or S doesn't make much difference in those areas. I generally drop to S in the city, as soon as I see multi-lane roads, or the first time ASS kicks in.

Who regularly uses sport mode? I'm getting to where I use it more and more cause the truck is so much more responsive.
Me. Too many gears in the trans. Quick stops, it has to catch up. Clunky. But SM is great on the mountain roads. Downshifting not as pronounced as say a Jeep.

Better the engine rev than lag.

I usually use S in the winter when I go on short trips to the store, I think the higher rpm cuts down on the gas in the oil. The rest of the time I drive in D the truck has plenty of power there also.
