Are these bad for our engines or not? I can admit I am an idiot because I want one. I want to hear the tststststststst sound because I like smiles per gallon.

But I have read so many mixed reviews on adding a BOV. I want to get the Boomba because it leaves the stock BoV intact, and I want to keep all OEM parts as well.

Are there any engineers that can tell me whether or not this would effect engine performance negatively? I have read that air is metered. Then I have read that venting to atmosphere causes turbo lag since you’re not feeding it back into the intake. Then I’ve read that it will prevent condensation in the intercooler. Etc etc.

my goal is simply this: be obnoxiously loud without affecting my engine performance negatively or affecting the reliability of my engine.

I know I can take it off quickly in the event the truck needs warranty work (unless it won’t cause warranty to be denied)

I already have the FlowMaster FX series catback exhaust. That is absolutely the extent of the things I want to do to the engine. No tune or any other bolt ons. I just want to hear smile noises

Sorry wrong group. You’re looking for the Subaru Bforum.

LOL..sorry Ms. Grammar.
Grammar and formatting are two totally different things.

and in this context, formatting is a way of modifying how the post looks - like a quote for example.

“Gramma” ??? At least you tried.
It’s just karma for me picking on you. I’ll get back to ricing my truck. You get back to judging others.

Maybe I will design an adapter for my boomba adapter using some plumbing pipe that pumps it out my hood and rig it to a powder hopper filled with pink powder so every time it goes off I can be puff the magic dragon.

I have this mod and a Flowmaster 40 series muffler on a factory exhaust.

Already ahead of you.

I've got almost 48K on my Ranger. Installed a Turbosmart BOV at approximately 20K. My engine runs GREAT to this day! I don't believe it gives you any advantage on power per se....but I do love to hissssssssss at folks as I drive by them.....lol ;)
I believe Mrs. Quail Guy enjoys hisssssssing a folks too when she drives it...

Just installed today. It's honestly just for the sound. I enjoy it for now, but X amount of miles later, I might change it back. Who knows. It's giggly fun for sure, but at least it's a 10 minute install and removal so, no worries if you ever change your mind.

This thread has been great entertainment, so thank you all.

Ps Im about to order an exhaust and BOV next week. Life's short, mod shit.
