Turbosmart BOV Question

Hello everyone, my question is about the turbosmart BOV. I have the kompact em 50/50. Did they change the bottom of the valve? Underneath it has 2 - inch and a half slits machined in. In a few you tube videos, it shows more like a port or a hole to line up with the recirculation hose side and a slit on the other side. Was this just an update in the manufacturing process? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
