Congrats on paying off your truck!
I tend to switch up my vehicles every few years - the torque of those hybrid tacomas is pretty cool. I’ll be keeping an eye on that drivetrain’s reliability.
Just passed 40k on a trip to TX and back last week - this thread gives me lots of hope. It’s easy to get sucked into reading threads about problems here so it’s nice to see one about successes.
Hey thanks! I haven’t found many write ups on rear leafs installs. There’s one where someone installs old man emu leafs but has to do some custom work to get the drivers side shim added to the new leaf.
I assume that the drivers side shim for the rear leafs should be transferred over to the any...
I finally installed the fox 2.0 kit that I got a few weeks ago. I had never done suspension work on my own before, but the shop labor rates in the mountains here would have had me paying more for the install than the kit itself.
I ended up watching tons of videos and reading tutorials and did...
Dang, I just found out about this thread after buying my FP Fox 2.0 suspension online from Levittown.
Benny - I suppose I’m just asking for punishment, but could you PM me the kind of discount I could have received?
I’m saving this thread for future purchases - glad I found it!
Checked out a mine and got caught in the rain. I love it when the mountains are misty - makes me feel like I’m in the lord of the rings but with a truck haha
Ran an off road trail loop yesterday. Drove about 80-90 miles off-pavement, and another 60 to get there and back. One section had some mud holes with super thick mud. I’ll probably have to clean the undercarriage again this week ?
Had a great time ?
Just wanted to say thanks for this thread - lots of good info that helped me.
Today I changed the rear diff and transfer case fluid, then did a drain and fill on the transmission. Going to do the front diff tomorrow.
The old fluids were really dark, so I’m glad I did this. I’ve got 37k miles...
That is correct - exactly that procedure. I’m in summit county so I went to summit Ford, but I would wager that Phil long’s mechanics have tuned a Ranger before.
One extra step I took was I printed out the install instructions and noted which steps I had already completed with a big sharpie...
I bought mine from my local dealer, then set it all up to be ready to tune, then I took it to the dealer and they charged me ~$250 for the install. Total was around $1150.
I would recommend setting it up yourself before you have it installed, that way you can do the updates yourself if/when new...
