he A1C test—also known as the hemoglobin A1C or HbA1c test—is a simple blood test that measures your average blood sugar levels over the past 3 months. It's one of the commonly used tests to diagnose prediabetes and diabetes, and is also the main test to help you and your health care team manage your diabetes.
When I first was diagnosed with "WTF? I only have 2 glasses of chocolate milk a day, start off with a bowl of Corn Flakes, eat some chocolate chip cookies and/or a Snicker's in the afternoon, a few handful of Peanut M&Ms in between, and ice cream every night", aka diabetes, my glucose was 426 at the doctor's office and my A1C was 12.6! o_O

No wonder my vision was blurry and it was hard to read emails! =p

Thank God the Ranger has steel bumpers - look out, here comes Soupie! =D

When I was still driving a truck and began to have problems with diabetic symptoms, my doc tested me and found my daily blood sugar levels were also in the mid 400's and my A1C was over 13. My eyesight had gone to shit and I was peeing a LOT without drinking a lot. I was scared to death.
I am much better now and thankful to have turned that particular corner.

Same here, I couldn't go 20 minutes without needing to pee, that was awful!

I cut way back on carbs. I ate Corn Flakes and Grape Nuts for 50 years and that was tough to give up. Now I eat 3 eggs and 2 Lit'l Smokies six days a week - I'll start laying eggs soon! =D

I use the heck out of this thing: https://www.amazon.com/Poached-Scrambled-Vegetables-Dumplings-capacity/dp/B07GPF8CCZ

The smaller one would probably work better, my wife got me this one, it can also make a 3 egg "omelette" that I do when I have to fend for myself some nights (man, I eat some serious quantity of eggs!). o_O

And, like you, I'm doing much better now and pee like normal (well, old man normal, but only a few times a day now - still slow as hell though ...). =D

I leave mine in all the time.
it's surprising how many people bang into it when parked.
I tow across town about once per month. Between uses, I'll wipe off the grease and give the ball a quick spray of satin black.
I don't live in a rust area.. But since the hitch fits fairly snug, for good measure I also smeared antiseize before putting it together.
Must admit I've never seen a stuck one until couple of weeks ago, when we were camped at Charleville on the way home from the Big Red Bash.
Saw a Cruiser wagon come in on a flatbed tow truck with a blown motor, the tow truck was also towing the guys caravan. Reversing the van into the camping spot he smacked the towbar pretty hard on the road. When the time came to pull out the shank, he must have either bent it, or jammed it pretty good. So he chained it to a tree and pulled, luckily a pretty sturdy gum. On the third attempt it let go with a bang. Then he left with he guys Landcruiser, that would have been an expensive tow and an even more expensive repair - felt sorry for the guy.

FWIW, the receiver is the part that's permanently mounted to your truck.

The ball mount/drop hitch is the part that you attach a trailer to, and what you've shown in your picture is just a shackle. I've had a shackle installed on mine for several months now, no problem. I'll be switching it out for a drop hitch soon as I'll be dragging my camper up to Canada for a little camping trip. But I definitely don't leave a drop hitch installed because of the aforementioned shin damage. Shackles don't stick out nearly as much, and I've not had any issues walking into it.
Canada? Camping trip?

Sounds like a lot of fun - what part of this great country are you heading to?

I leave my balls on all the time. They do have a lock for honest folks. Been on a year but we're in a small town.

1690473727699.png
note the expensive lock holding it but no lock on the clips holding the balls themselves in place.

as a note I always remove mine. to many shin issues. but that is the only reason. Also my standard fixed hieght drop hitch, 2 different size balls and a a big ass wrench are in the swing case in the bed of the truck.

It takes just a minute to reconfigure for standard trailers.

My travel trailer uses a monster weight distribution hitch. with spring bars etc that probablly weigh 50 pounds all in. that comes out when ever I am not actively towing the trailer. not just remove the bars but the whole assembly.

Good observation on non-locking pins for the balls themselves. =)

The ginormous anti-rattle hitch prevents them from being removed. You can also get a free plate from B&W that fills the gap where that part can slide out of the rail.

I do carry spare pins because I could imagine some meth head taking them out and tossing them or maybe, if not too methed out, selling them for scrap.

B&W anti-removal plate, not listed on their site but free if you ask for it when ordering

I'm headed to New Brunswick. Fundy National park and nearby environs.
Sounds like fun - when I lived in New Brunswick, we would head to Fundy with our longer travel bikes and shuttle to the top of the trail - my 2001 Ranger, a Dakota and a Frontier. You might also find some nice riding at Ski Wentworth in Nova Scotia and if you go across the Confederation Bridge to PEI, there’s good cross-country riding at Brookvale Park.

Enjoy!

I either have a hitch in or a bump step in all the time. They have saved my bumper from no less than THREE rear ends by dumb kids on their cell phones while driving.

One ding dong rear ended me so hard that it imprinted his license plate number into my bump step.... no damage to the bumper!

IMG_5107.jpg
I have the same one. Has saved my bumper twice!
