Now THAT is what I call a good deal! In 14 years, you had zero depreciation!Old 81 Dodge with the slant six. Couldn’t wear it out. Paid $1000 dollars for it, drove the crap out of it for 14 years, sold it for $1000.

I tell you what - those straight 6s are really hard to kill. My son had a 300 straight six in his F-100 and it had over 200k on it, and it ran like a top. He drained the oil out of it once when he had it parked in my shop (which I didn't know at the time). I needed to move it so I started it up, moved it and it didn't complain at all. He ended up pulling the motor and checking the main and rod bearings - they didn't seem to have any damage from it at all. That was one hell of a motor - and torque for days!
