I keep my ranger under carport but it’s not enclosed and it’s gets dirty easy from rain and wind blowing sand, plus we have outdoor cats.
anybody use covers?

Have never covered a car/truck, but at one point in the past I covered our rv's, both trailers and motor homes.
Found that the covers caused more scratches and buffing of the paint than weather ever did.
Quit using them years ago.
Cats...their claws are going to tear right thru any cover you put on.

I don’t have a cover for my Ranger but I always use one on my Porsche-a!

They guarantee not to scratch the paint and cats claws won’t tear it

I have a carcover that I got from a friend that was purchased for a Colorado and it fits my Ranger perfectly.

When I put my BRZ away(in garage) for the winter is the only time I put a cover on anything. Maybe it won't scratch but if something gets under, it will get scratched.

Strange...that's what Adco said about their $450.00 rv cover !!!
Scratched the cr-p out of the gelcoat and vinyl graphics.
The soft underlayer might not scratch by itself, but if dust/dirt ever gats under the cover, between it and your paint, it acts like sandpaper.
Just my experience, but it's your truck, your $$$, your choice.

I wash, dry and go over the vehicle with a clean micro fiber cloth before putting the cover on my "baby".

I won't use any type of car cover. I have seen too many older/classic cars start to rust from leaving covers on all the time. Plus they will scratch/mar the paint after a while. As far as the rust issue, it depends on where you are at. Here in Missouri with the high humidity and frequent temperature swings, covers are a no go for me.

I'd be lazy and not want to bother putting it on. But, that's just me.

As others have said , the cover itself may not scratch but any dust that gets underneath will . The fine print in the warranty will state that any debris on the vehicle must be cleaned off completely before installing the cover . The one you posted is probably a decent cover and my shop sold many such over the years , but I would only use it over a freshly washed and detailed vehicle . Once removed it should not be re-installed until detailed again . Even then I always suggested that two people install and remove the cover as to prevent it from brushing against the floor and getting dust on the inside areas . The nicer breathable ones are really good for long term storage but I would never use one daily or outside at all . The wind will get all sorts of debris underneath and buffet it around until it looks like you've wet sanded the paint .
