It'll be interesting to see the new design and the specs. I had a couple friends who loved them and always drove the older Dakots's and never really had any major problems with them. Competition is good especially for the mid size trucks and keeps the other manufacturers on their toes and having to up their game.

I had 3 Dakotas that I put almost 600,000 mostly trouble free miles on. I would likely be driving number 4 if it was still in production when I purchased the Ranger in 21. If it looks as good as some of the renderings I have seen I will likely be driving another one.

Don't need renderings. It's already introduced in other markets. Expect the US / NA version to have only slight differences for compliance - like side markers etc.

Here's what it looks like (scroll through all the threads):

The truck they have in other markets are compact unibody vehicle like the Maverick. The article states they don't know much about what the midsize for the north American will be. Articles I have seen state it will be a body on frame. The picture in the article is a rendering, it may or may not look like that. I certainly would expect it to have a family resemblance to the Ram 1500.

I really liked my Dakota, would have bought another had one been available in 2019. If I do get another vehicle in the next few years, it will be an AWD something. I like not having any worries when driving in winter. Heck, I might not even need AWD if I get my way and we move to SC or the likes. Boss retires June 30, she'll make the call, I'm sure. We have a dynomite location/views, but getting to the point where I may not want to deal with mud season, black fly season, 2 month summer and 7 months of winter and everything that comes with it, anymore.

Well since my ranger electronics system keeps screwing up, I'm about ready for a dodge.

That won’t go on this forum. Look how high that bedside is😂
That’s because it’s for the Brazilian market.
