The funny thing is, I have never seen a supercab here in person. All crews. Nothing against them, just don't see them.

I'm with you. I used to have to belly flop and roll onto the tailgate. But Now I have the TrekStep and use it like crazy. Costly and a pain to install. BUT ... that said, a small aluminum folding step would not be bad either.I really like the '24 Ranger especially compared to the new GM twins. Only thing I wish for is something help step up into the bed.
A 1997 F-150 SuperCab with a 6.5' box is a foot longer then a 2019+ Ranger in either configuration. So the Ranger is 12" shorter and 5" narrower then a comparible '97 F-150. They are nowhere near the same size no matter what people keep saying on here. Also you can't compare a regular cab with a short bed for length. It has to be somewhat apples to apples.
If the bed is 6', I don't care if it is a CrewCab or a SuperCab (prefer the SuperCab). Perhaps the 12v Fridge could go in the cab, instead of the bed...To me buying a truck is for the bed. Hence I bought a SCAB. I understand a
young family buying a SCREW. Just read the post about electric Ranger, I
was so excited, now, not so much. Really wanted a PHEV SCAB, oh well, I'll
keep this one for a while. I see quite a few SCABs around here.
I agree with you, need to see the price & specs. If the bed is 6', I don't care if it is a CrewCab or a SuperCab (prefer the SuperCab). Perhaps the 12v Fridge could go in the cab, instead of the bed...
The PHEV would also tip the scales for me, I have a PHEV Wrangler, and have grown very 'fond' of NOT going to the gas station. It will just depend at the time what the order of priority is. PHEV, Cab size, box size, overall length, price.
I am now up to 2500 total miles (4323 km) on the PHEV Wrangler, 1654 (2661 km) of them are electric. of the 850 that are not, 500 was bringing it home from NC. Last fill-up was July10th, it took 6 gallons. Fill-up before that was June 18, took 1.5 gallons. For sure is the Mall Crawler/Errand Runner, and a lot of places we run to have charging stations, so someone else (Kroger, Target, etc.) pays for the 'top-off' of the battery while there.I agree with you, need to see the price & specs.
Some guy I talked to with a PHEV said he went 2000km last summer without
putting gas in, sounds appealing.
Wife would have preferred a SCREW but did not pay attention to what we were buying.
Yes, yes, and yes!Well it looks like I'm keeping my 5G till it or me dies of old age. 6G is no longer mid-sized. Longer, wider, suddenly it no longer fits in my garage. It is aready the same size as a earlier Gen F150. Why does everything need to keep getting bigger with a bigger engine? Their turning the Ranger into a full size and the F150 into a Superduty. Then they make it electric and it can't tow a camper a 100 miles. Madness I say!
I think that for most of the Ranger's market profile, a SuperCrew offers the best compromise. It is a relatively economical commuter and family hauler/chore truck, and capable off pavement, and doesn't look like an SUV, which is largely why the Maverick andHyundai Santa Cruz are so popular; good interior space, easy payment and a good changeup from the last two or three SUVs in the family fleet. Those of us that want or need a 6' box, but don't need or want a full four door cab are in the minority, myself included. The funny thing is, I have never seen a supercab here in person. All crews. Nothing against them, just don't see them.
Are you using fuel stabilizer?I am now up to 2500 total miles (4323 km) on the PHEV Wrangler, 1654 (2661 km) of them are electric. of the 850 that are not, 500 was bringing it home from NC. I ahven't added any yet, but plan to in the near future. I am planning on burning through the fuel every couple months, though, at this point in time. Are you using fuel stabilizer?
Ok. You can still buy a regular cab F-150 with a 6.5' box. Total length is about an inch less then the Ranger. If it's a comparable model to the Ranger you'd think those things would be flying off the lots, but I can't remember the last time I saw anyone buy one other then for commercial purposes. No, you compare what ford is willing to sell you, not some abstract "apples".
You can still buy that combo of an F-150 and it's about 209" long right now so I don't know what the issue is. If you want a truck that's an inch shorter then a Ranger then order a standard cab F-150 with a 6.5' bed. If that's still too large get a Maverick.A single cab standard bed (6.5') is the shortest combination of f150 that was made then. And that configuration is common from what I've seen on the road, especially for work trucks.
Those are near identical to the current ranger (f150 is 208" ranger is 210.8")
I don't know what the issue is either. When people want a 6.5' bed and don't want 4 doors, an f150 is probably a better option when looking purely at size. You can still buy that combo of an F-150 and it's about 209" long right now so I don't know what the issue is.
