Less than 600 km...not much of a real world readout but that's what it is so far. Anyone know why the current mpg/ L/100 km is reading 99.9? Truck was parked.

99.9L/100km is equivalent to 0mpg. It's because your engine is running and you're not moving. So you're effectively using infinite fuel over a distance.

Edit: We have a 2021 XL 2WD, SuperCab with about 5,000 miles.

My husband is a fantastic hyper-miler. He drove our Ranger 259 miles on 8.3 gallons, for a whopping 31.27 mpg. The trip was from the Milwaukee suburbs to Indianapolis. Flat, but 70+ mph except around Chicago. He gets 24 mpg out of his Jeep Wrangler, so I'm not surprised.

The info center read 32.8, but it's always a bit high. Still, that confirms the 31.27.

Different gas pumps will stop filling at different levels, so I averaged the last three fillups, which included a week of me commuting. We traveled 779 miles on 26.72 gallons for 29.15 mpg.

Pulling our 23' travel trailer, we're getting 11 mpg at 60 mph and 12 mpg at 55 mpg. I tell other friends with trailers and they're blown away by those numbers.

I am shockingly impressed with that mostly pure highway mpg. City mpg has been... disappointing to say the least.

Just got back a few weeks ago from a 1500 mile trip to the Smoky Mountains! Drove around 400 miles while there in the mountains and the rest was highway mileage back up to Michigan! Managed 21.6 MPG according to the trip computer and my actual calculations were about 21.3-21.5 MPG, so quite close! And I was very impressed! And that was driving about 73-80 MPH depending on where I was at!

Driving ~75 mph, I cannot get above 20 mpg.
This is quite disappointing; hopefully this will change. In other vehicles i have good mileage, so I don't think it's my driving style.

I read of others with low mileage, and they are getting >25 mpg, so I think there's something fundamentally wrong with this vehicle.

Has anyone taken their vehicle to a dealer due to mileage that is lower than advertised? Even if doing all city driving, it should be 21 mpg; with mixed, it should be 23.

2019 Lariat, Unleashed Tune, leveled, 1.5” wheel spacers, mishimoto intake with that big mouth intake thingy and I’m 52yrs old with a very light foot. 28,100 highway and city miles….best I ever get (average) is 25mpg summer and about 22mpg in winter.

I drive too hard, it's usually 13-15 mpg in the city and high teens on the highway, maybe low 20's if I have the speed limiter on board (wife)
But hey, I came from a Raptor, I got 7-8 mpg when I drove it hard, so this is great.

Slow down to 65 and your mileage will increase. You are driving a brick. When you take it to 75, it will act like a brick.

Hang in there JB, it does get better with age. Although, off the cuff, I'd think with a topper it would be slightly better but that adds weight too, so that balanced that out.
But for comparisons mine is also a SC but 4wd and bigger AT tires with speedo dialed in.
On long trips I can almost squeeze out 23mpg on 93 @75mph. I'm up to 8500 miles now.
Don't bother taking in to the dealer. All you're going to hear is "normal" and send you on your way.
They're busy as crap right now with real world problems.
And btw, your mileage will be worse soon due to the colder temps and winter blend fuels. Did you notice the price increase lately?

I just returned from a 7 day trip to Dallas and was very dissappointed to average 17.4 MPG. I drove normally and set the CC on 65 mph where it was possible. The only thing I can account for this low figure was encountering 2 Freeway road construction closures on the way home. Both totaled about an hour of slow creeping traffic with a lot of stop and go?

The mileage on the Ranger at the end of the trip was 5979. The truck performed perfectly with no issues except for too much road noise inside the cab. It had a solid feel and great control both in the city and on the Freeways.

Shouldn't that number be the minimum we ever see in these vehicles under normal, non-loaded, level driving conditions?

Thanks for the response and I believe your right that this should be the lowest possible mpg during city driving under normal conditions. I'm hoping that the road closures were the factor because I went to Flagstaff, AZ in July and averaged 23.2 which was reasonable even though I was hoping for at least 25. Someone has mentioned that as you get more mileage on a vehicle the mpg improves

Thanks Dave. I will try premium next and check how that works. Texas was fairly flat where I traveled and and didn't notice any outstanding inclines. But went through several windy areas there where the wind turbines were working so this could have created some drag. Also, there is about a 15 mile stretch of mountains coming into our city with a number of steep inclines so that might have pulled the mpg down. The trip was fun and hope everything is going well for you
