Hell yeah AND by far the best looking MT, I just cant justify getting them I live in a city now. Duratracs are almost too aggressive for me. You truck looks killer good work!!
FPP tune would do you good, not to aggressive just enough.

I’ve had these 255/85/r16 Toyo Open Country’s on for about 4 months now. I’ve clocked near 7,000 miles on them, with (2) 3,000 mile rotations. My MPG has gone from 23 to 14 in that same 4 month time span. Couple that with the small gas tank on the Ranger and I’m only getting roughly 250 miles of range instead of the near 400 I used to have. I’m also looking for more power, I’ll be stepping it up to 35s for the next set of tires and I’d like to have it dialed in beforehand. That being said, what tune are y’all running on your Ranger with oversized tires? How do you like it and what MPG improvements have you seen, if any?

Knowing that when you enlarge the exhaust pipe, the gas expands, cools, and slows down, I then wrapped the exhaust stem to stern with fiberglass to keep the gas hot, and moving.

The wrap was pretty cheap. I figured it would not last long if left naked, so I painted it with brush on POR-15 High Temperature Paint - Aluminum ........ https://por15.com/collections/high-temperature-paint/products/high-temp?variant=39607014588583 let it sit 24 hrs then drove the truck 10 minutes to the grocery store. Paint curing stunk so bad I worried the VOC's might ignite. Let it sit till cool, then 10 min drive back home. Still some stink but less. After a few drives no more stink from paint.

I can put my hand on the pipes, no burn, right after pulling off the hiway with a trailer. Also it is notably cooler in the cab when idling in the 115degree Tucson summer heat +++++.

The painted wrap acts as an external muffler. Truck was so quiet I deleted the muffler. Still not loud unless accelerating with heavy load, pulling up hill, etc.. Quiet @ cruise.

Can't get 93 Octane in AZ, only puny 91, so not sure a tune would make much difference. When I go to Texas, where I CAN get 93 Octane gas, it REALLY makes an very noticeable difference, another level of oomph, when I squash the pedal to the floor. Of course MPG suffers anytime I do that regardless of octane.

Run Yoyo Open Country 295 /70 17 R/T tires, no rub, no scrub. I get about 18 MPG, driving like granny in town, 65mph on hiway. ZERO complaints about under power. Truck pulls like mule and runs like scalded dog. No "Tune". GAWD knows what the truck would do with a tune. Scare the crap out of me probly.

Is your speedometer accurate with your GPS speed readout?

I'm only running 32" tires and my true speed is about 2 mph faster than the speedo shows.

One day I'll adjust it but that'll be when I get a round tuit.

I have 33x12.50x17 and my Speedo is off compared to gps. Only off by 3mph

I would not recommend the wrap for everyone. In a wet environment, the wrap will hold moisture and will cause the exhaust to rot off.

Everything changes MPG.

Bigger Tires

Lifts.

Levels.

Removing the front air dam.

Adding a push bar.

Adding a grill guard.

Adding light bars or round lights that air has to slam into.

Adding doo-dad attachments (wich I will self proclaim as the winner, as my truck now has the aerodynamics of of a brick sporting 4 wheels).

Understand for Ford to meet MPG estimates they have fine tuned everything down to the comical factory rake of the front nose dive.

I can get about 17.4 MPG if I grandpa the throttle and never exceed 65MPH on the highway using cruise control. Real world MPG is similar to yours, between 13.5 and 14.5 MPG
