Thanks you guys.

Not sure about the new thread though, I'd like to get away from the list and have enough to meet the demand, it's an ambitious goal, we will see.

Soon as you have the Shopify site up Fitz I'll put my info in for one. Really magnificent work. To be fair, however, wouldn't expect less from a former Honda Racing fabricator. Rock on!

Got mine yesterday, installed it today. Was having a bad day and it took an hour to install. Not cuz of the stick but cuz I was just having one of those days.
Anyhow couldn't ask for better fit and finish this is exactly what it should be.
Mike you've done an excellent job on this keep it up you'll be well off I'm sure. Enjoy your new venture as you seem to be excellent at it.
Cheers

The same as another member - On rerouting the wire harness.

I had to reroute mine as well.

I tried routing on both sides of the harness, it would work but put some stress on the short wire run, plus with the MBS mounted it pinched the main wire run in front of it.

While still following the routing directions and as seen in the install video, you may have to slightly modify the routing of this wire harness.

Easy fix though, remove the support nylon fastener (Christmas Tree) and reroute harness to the bottom of the bracket and resecure with Zip-Tie, but before zip it down push harness towards drivers' side to give you some play in the wire harness.

Check and ensure before you tighten down the MBS bracket that the main wire harness and the small wire harness are not pinched under the MBS bracket. This can be verified by running your finger down along both the main and small wire harness runs. They should both still be able to move freely with zero strain on them.

Other than that, install went great, Dipstick goes in and out like butter, and fluid level is exactly between 4 & 5, the exact level it was when I checked the OEM stick.

Excellent Job Mike

My OEM Wire harness routing.
The short wire run was the issue,

And after watching the install video, I can see that my short harness run appears shorter than the video, so there appears to be some variance in where the harness branches out of the main harness and placement of the nylon support.

If tube was placed in between the two harnesses, it put a strain on the short run and also made the tube difficult to move around to proper resting position.

If tube was routed behind the short run as depicted in the install video it put a strain on the connector and it also pulled the main run closer and upwards at the bracket, which interfered with the resting position of the Dipstick (MBS) bracket.

EDIT: I will take another look at this to see if it is possible just to pull the short harness run up and over the EGR Backpressure Sensor, as after seeing it in a pic my sensor seated position has changed the clocking of the connector and it is wrapped around the sensor. I think this is the reason for having a shorter wire run.

The Fix:

Remove the nylon harness support, it will most likely break off, but that's ok because you are repositioning the harness anyway.

Reroute the main wire harness to the bottom of the bracket and resecure with a zip-tie, but before you snug up the zip-tie gently push the wire harness towards the driver's side.
This will give the small wire harness run more play and you can route the dipstick tube as the instructions call for and the main wire harness is out of the way for the MBS mount so it can rest perfectly.

And a little dig, here is the service manual pic.

The sensor that the short wire harness connects to is the:
EGR Backpressure Sensor.

Note the position of the connector in the pic below, final seated position of the sensor will change the length of the harness.

I had a chance to watch the install video, and kudos to the creator. Excellent job. You make creating content look easy. I know it is not...

RETIRED!
I received mine yesterday (9-27-2023) It will probably be a week or so before I can get around to installing it.

Top quality manufacturing for sure!

3 Comparision shots of the Short Harness Run to the EGR Backpressure Sensor

This shows that the sensor final torqued position will vary and change the length of the harness.

First - Install Video Snap

2nd - Another Member Install

Note: How the connector is installed and the wires are about 180 deg difference from video

Mine - Not the clearest picture but you can see the connector is also clocked differently.

Wire Harness OEM.jpg

I want to highlight this to reiterate what Mike has instructed and that is to ensure the wire harness is not pinched under the MBS mount, but I would like to add an important note and that is the short wire run (Length) will vary depending on where the final rest torque of the sensor is.
If you are not paying attention to this, it may cause issues down the road due to the stress on the harness at the connector.

You may have to adjust the harness some to get enough play in it to allow zero stress with the tube installed.

2 Options Here:

1. Pull the support out - (White Nylon) Plastic Fastener - It may break getting it out, and push the main harness towards the driver's side, as this will give more slack to the short harness run.
Reroute the main harness to the bottom of the bracket and resecure with zip-tie using the open hole from the nylon fastener.

or

2. Carefully unwrap the main harness at the branch out of the shorter harness to give it some slack. be very careful here if you use a knife to cut the protective wrap, you do not want to cut or Knick a wire.

For me the less invasive and safest way is best so just use option #1 for the average owner who has not had experience cutting into a wire harness.

Again, strain relief is important here, so during install and after install, run your finger along both the main and short harness runs and give a gentle tug on them to ensure you have play in both harnesses.
As this will verify you are not pinched under the MBS bracket and also verify you are not stressing the short harness run between the main harness and the connector.

Morning all. My apologies if I should know the answers, but this thread is simply too damn long to go back through to find the answers. I was watching this one initially. Then sort of stopped checking it. Then came back to find 6 gazillion pages. I don't have the patience to wade through all of it.

1) I want to purchase a dipstick. How do I get on the list?

2) What is the price?

3) How do we know when our stick is ready? (Very aware that I will be at the way way way back of the line.)

Lastly, I am blown away by what Fitzmotor has done. Talk about "dude got skillz!"

Thanks!

So a few of you have had to remove the Christmas tree harness clip from the end of this bracket then you zip tie it.

The next install where the installer thinks that is needed, try this, where the blue x is, gently bend that bracket down maybe 1/4 inch maybe a little more but not much and see if that allows enough room to leave the harness clip in the bracket.

That bracket holds the looms up off the water pipe, but there is enough room to lower the bracket and still keep the looms off the pipe.

Let me know if anyone else has wire loom issues, I will have to come up with some kind of additional instructions or extended clip to move the loom.

Thank you very much for the info and the pics, I know that looks easy buy is a lot of work.

Thanks!! But I'm just a tool that made a living my whole life with my hands instead of my brain and after doing it for so long I have a mechanical brain I guess.

So, yes a comment here is good, if I keep using this as a list, but I'm trying to swing 200 more, that should exceed the amount of members on the voting and the post lists.

The last batch was $179, that may change.

I’m trying to learn more patience but this anxious suspense is getting rough. Very eager to get mine?. It may be more torture for me right now but where can I view this install video? Is there a link?
