Ford recommends changing transmission fluid every 150,000 miles. If you own your truck for 300,000 (I won't), then you do it once. The cost is: "The average cost for a Ford Ranger Transmission Fluid Change is between $215 and $252. Labor costs are estimated between $141 and $178 while parts are priced between $74 and $74." I'll just let the dealer deal with it, easier and cheaper.
Called my dealer to do a pan drop and filter with fluid change and they wanted $770 to do it. Did offer to do a flush for $360 which I will never do.

I know a flush doesn't sound good, but I did have it done in my last truck (F150) at 80,000 miles and it made a positive difference in how it shifted. If I did a pan drop, knowing me, I'd probably wind up with a leak, which I'd have to fix.

As TJC posted....either one. Function will be the same either way, and once installed all your likely to see is the yellow grip.
What ever YOUR satisified with, we will be too.

I feel clear may discolor over time, but not being too visible when installed it shouldn’t matter much. Whichever holds up better to being exposed to heat for years takes my vote.

So how many people really care if the heat shrink is clear or black?

I know it sounds like a odd question, I found a clear that does match the specs of the good black stuff I already have a 100 feet of, not sure I can get it here in time though.

I think it looks much cooler in clear, I could even slip in a visible logo, but really, you will only see it during install.

Maybe I could offer it as a option later.

I'm just waiting for the hose Mfg, I had them make two of them with the final bracket, one a 1/4" shorter than the other so I could nail down the exact length, the 1/4" shorter is too short, so I gave them the go ahead to make the remaining 58 at the other length, I'm hoping to get them next week, fingers crossed.
Does not matter, function over looks

I'd be OK with either black or clear, but since you already have the black and no one will ever see it, I'd probably opt for black at this point.
