I would never trust it again
The body shop can say all they want but once they’re bent up, I never trust them again but that’s just me. Had a friend buy a brand new Subaru BRZ which was a decent car I thought. A month later, she had some POS driver rear end her brand new car And wad up the rear as you might imagine. I told her it will never be right again but she had it fixed. It was never right again.

When my '19 got hit the body shop was really good. I told them my concerns about the frame and then having a CarFax on it and the estimator even said he agreed and wouldn't want that either. I really think they went the extra mile for me to make sure it was totaled. They had most of the interior stripped, marks circled all over the body that were not there the day of the accident along with the hood. There was no damage to the hood as I was hit right behind the cab and in front of the rear tire. I was thankful to have them and a great insurance claims adjuster who got it totaled and enough money to buy my Tremor.

This was the only area that was hit.

I'm just going to see it and tell you that it is most likely done. Because of the contact between the bed and the cab the chassis has been damaged officially. Time start searching for another vehicle since someone else decided to screw you over

Looks like it shifted the body cause the hood looks misaligned. I would never have trusted that again if they had fixed it.

When my son hit that buck with his beautiful Tahoe, it set off like seven airbags which was an automatic total. He got $19.000 for it with 223,000 miles on it. He made out cause he only paid close $20,000 and drove the crap out of it for like six years. Unfortunately, he had just put a $7000 transmission in it a few months before this.

One thing I learned from my accident is that frames can be straightened out if they’re bent, within reason of course. Rangers are built using a two-piece frame so if one part of it is damaged, it can be straightened out or even swapped with another one. That’s what the repair shop told me anyway.

When I wrecked my ranger, I thought for sure it was done. I was honestly shocked that they were able to repair it. Cosmetic damage can be deceiving though. Just because the damage doesn’t look that bad, at least in your pics it doesn’t seem too terrible, it doesn’t mean the transmission or differential wasn’t damaged from the impact. The rear axle could also be bent depending where the impact was exactly.

The shop who fixed my truck told me that they really wouldn’t know if there was any unseen damage until they got everything else repaired and test drove it. Luckily for me, everything was repairable. Hopefully yours can be fixed and isn’t beyond saving. On the bright side, at least you weren’t in the truck when it got hit…

Exactly! It still amazes me that a hit at a low speed (I was in my neighborhood going 25 mph and she was just pulling out) can do so much damage. The OPs truck got hit so hard from behind to move the bed enough to hit the cab I'm pretty sure there's frame damage. Unless the bed mounts all broke but then would've been more noticeable by the bed being even more uneven that it already is stock. lol

I was hit early last year by a girl in a Hyundai going about 50, but it was not a direct hit. No frame damage on mine, but yours looks a lot worse. Mine also wasn't pushed into the cab, so no damage there. What you see in the photo was around $17k to fix if that gives you any idea about the probability of it being totaled. You can look up that calculation online or with your insurance company. I think it varies by state. Best wishes and thank be to God you weren't injured. Vehicles can be replaced.

The driver was a 70 year old woman who kept saying " I thought I was ok to drive". She went in an ambulance probably to avoid going to jail. Cops said they can tell she was toasted. Who let Gramdma take the car that can go 100 in 6 seconds anyways. I wonder if I can sue who ever let her drive?????? I think if she was at an establishment, they might be held accountable. When I ran restaurants we were always told that we had to prevent an intoxicated individual from driving away. And if we had knowledge of their intoxication we could be sued. Does anyone know about that?
That sucks…. I agree with everyone else, frame damage for sure. I would certainly hire a lawyer to help with the litigation process 😩

Curious as to why you think this would be going to court.

In many states the bartender and establishment can be sued for over serving people drinks. This lady hit the OP and 2 (or 3) other vehicles and can probably be sued herself.
