The damage to the back of the cab makes me think the frame is toast and it's totaled. But I'm a retired mechanic not a bodyman.

The body shop can say all they want but once they’re bent up, I never trust them again but that’s just me. Had a friend buy a brand new Subaru BRZ which was a decent car I thought. A month later, she had some POS driver rear end her brand new car And wad up the rear as you might imagine. I told her it will never be right again but she had it fixed. It was never right again.I would never trust it again
I thought the same. The damage to the back of the cab makes me think the frame is toast and it's totaled. But I'm a retired mechanic not a bodyman.
When my '19 got hit the body shop was really good. I told them my concerns about the frame and then having a CarFax on it and the estimator even said he agreed and wouldn't want that either. I really think they went the extra mile for me to make sure it was totaled. They had most of the interior stripped, marks circled all over the body that were not there the day of the accident along with the hood. There was no damage to the hood as I was hit right behind the cab and in front of the rear tire. I was thankful to have them and a great insurance claims adjuster who got it totaled and enough money to buy my Tremor. The body shop can say all they want but once they’re bent up, I never trust them again but that’s just me. Looks like it shifted the body cause the hood looks misaligned. I would never have trusted that again if they had fixed it.When my '19 got hit the body shop was really good. This was the only area that was hit.

Exactly! It still amazes me that a hit at a low speed (I was in my neighborhood going 25 mph and she was just pulling out) can do so much damage. The OPs truck got hit so hard from behind to move the bed enough to hit the cab I'm pretty sure there's frame damage. Unless the bed mounts all broke but then would've been more noticeable by the bed being even more uneven that it already is stock. lolLooks like it shifted the body cause the hood looks misaligned. I would never have trusted that again if they had fixed it.
That sucks…. I agree with everyone else, frame damage for sure. I would certainly hire a lawyer to help with the litigation processThe driver was a 70 year old woman who kept saying " I thought I was ok to drive". She went in an ambulance probably to avoid going to jail. Cops said they can tell she was toasted. Who let Gramdma take the car that can go 100 in 6 seconds anyways. I wonder if I can sue who ever let her drive?????? I think if she was at an establishment, they might be held accountable. When I ran restaurants we were always told that we had to prevent an intoxicated individual from driving away. And if we had knowledge of their intoxication we could be sued. Does anyone know about that?
Curious as to why you think this would be going to court. That sucks…. I agree with everyone else, frame damage for sure. I would certainly hire a lawyer to help with the litigation process![]()
In many states the bartender and establishment can be sued for over serving people drinks. This lady hit the OP and 2 (or 3) other vehicles and can probably be sued herself.Curious as to why you think this would be going to court.
