I'm trying to chase down any Ford documentation that the pan should be discarded. So far I've only found the assertion it's a one-time use part on PPE's site promoting their aluminum replacement.I will be reusing the existing gasket. It is designed to be reused. The plastic transmission pan is a disposable item, but people reuse them as well.
Other than PPE, where did you see mention of it being a one-time-use?I'm trying to chase down any Ford documentation that the pan should be discarded. So far I've only found the assertion it's a one-time use part on PPE's site promoting their aluminum replacement.
Does anyone have a source of Ford service procedures that explicitly says not to re-use the plastic pan?
You'd think Ford would be all about branding a PPE pan with a 'Ford Performance' logo and selling a crapton.
Yes, the Filter is reusable - If not excessively contaminated with debrisOther than PPE, where did you see mention of it being a one-time-use?
This just shows, clean and inspect and reinstall.
They specifically call out the filter and gasket as being reusable as well. Ford loves their throw away parts, so if it were the case, they'd clearly call it out.

Get an MBS Dipstick (Fitz Stick). Accurate and installation is simple enough.Installed mine yesterday. The truck only has 20K on it so I reused the gasket and left the original filter. The only pain (literally) was the friggin stupid dipstick. Ended up using a welding glove to reach up between the catalyst and the trasnmission to make sure the fluid was up to spec.
Definitely on my list. That is when my bank account recovers. Love my truck but the toy budget, sheesh!Get an MBS Dipstick (Fitz Stick). Accurate and installation is simple enough.
Make sure that the fluid meets the Specifications of the transmission. If it does not meet them then it will cause problems. This rule applies to ALL Transmissions regardless of Male and Model.Ordered my HD PPE pan today including gasket, filter and seal for filter. My truck has 23,000 on it. I’m going to be using Amsoil ATF High Efficiency synthetic. I also have already purchased the dipstick upgrade from Fitz so I’ll be doing that at the same time. Got my pan on Amazon for $189
I would urge caution on that fluid. As far as I'm aware, Amsoil does not make a ULV compatible fluid. All of theirs are thicker at operating temp, which is not necessarily a good thing.Ordered my HD PPE pan today including gasket, filter and seal for filter. My truck has 23,000 on it. Never been a Scamoil guy and never will be. It is all over priced for what it is to begin with. Also you really have to be careful if it doesn't meet specificationsI would urge caution on that fluid. Certainly report back if you do. I'm interested in what effect it has on shift timings in the box.
