3" seems like too much to me. I measure 37" to the bottom of the rear wheel well and 35" to the bottom of the front wheel well. If I'm not saying that right I'm sure you all know what I mean. With a 2" difference I figure 1" in the front is all I need, since loading stuff up in the back will make it squat more.

I want to figure something out, but I also want to stay married, so I might end up staying stock.

Found a used set on offerup. I know these run on the smaller side of 33's and they probably only got 40% of tread left but they fit with pleanty of room at full lock with Crash bars intact. I have a 25+ offset and a 3 eibach lift maybe that helped. No one tells you how loud these are...

She's a bit dirty (olive pollen), but here are BFG AT KO2 285 70 R17 on Icon Compression with 25mm offset. I was able to wiggle out the stock crash bars and trim-fit at set of BDS that increased the space quite a bit. No rubbing even under load.

I started them out at 40 lbs, which was a bit harsh, and am currently running them at 35, which is comfy around pothole-ville Santa Clara but the MPG is nowhere near advertised. I am about to try 37 rear, 38 front to see if I get a bump in MPG without shaking any fillings loose.

Do you have a side view of your truck with your new wheels/tires? Considering a similar setup.

I went with the 295 70 18, leveling kit up front and crash bars removed. 4.5" backspace on the wheels.

Wow you fit those with just a level? I have 295/70r17's coming to go along with with my Eibach Pro-Truck 3"/1" lift and thought that would be pushing it for front clearances with the fenderwell under articulation. Any issues so far??

Same here....love the look but I don't want the mpg hit.
This is where I am at as well. Bouncing between different wheels right now AS WELL as tires. The only 285's I've found that aren't incredibly heavy (IE- an LT) are Standard Load (P)-rated Falken Wildpeak AT3W's, Toyo Open Country AT2's and Nitto TerraGrappler G2s.

I'm hoping the offset in weight wont crush fuel as much. 265 Falkens weigh 46.5lbs and the P285's weigh 50.5. So many variables... so little time...

The weight is a huge thing but I went nuts anyway, my wheels/tires will be 22% heavier than stock. That being said I ordered the C load Wildpeaks and they have 18.5/32nds of tread which should help with tread wear.

If I don't like them I'll just buy something different next time. I'll be flashing my tune soon after install so not sure I'll notice too much.
