As the title said, the Parking Brake light stays on after putting the lever down. I have to lightly tap the lever again after disengaging the brake to turn off the light.

I want to know if this is a common issue before talking to the dealer at my next appointment.

Tried searching for the issue before posting, but my Spanish-speaking brain might not be searching for the correct terms, so forgive me if this topic has been discussed.

My truck is the US model if that matters at all.

Has not been a problem for me.
Haven't even seen it discussed, but that's not to say somewhere it hasn't been.

It was discussed I believe, how the parking brake boot leather/fabric can bind up causing the issue

Especially when it is cold out, it hardens up and doesn't want to collapse
This is the issue mine has. The lever ends up creeping back up on its own/won't stay down so the light comes back on.

I never really had an issue. If anything you just got to make sure that you're actually getting me lever all the way down.

I'm betting on this being the issue, will have the dealer look at it, but I'm not expecting much since they always have a lame excuse when the issue is trivial.

Yeah, at first, I thought it was my ADHD kicking in, but I've made sure the last few days and the light will be on even after double-checking the lever..

The boot gets stiff in the cold weather, but you are in Puerto Rico? I had the same issue and just stopped using the parking brake to solve the problem.

Yeah, the coldest night here in the past year was 65F. It warms up quickly in the mornings, around 78F when heading out to work.

I doubt is temperature-related.

Yeah, I didn't notice the issue on mine until it got well below freezing. Have you tried manipulating the boot at all, like maybe it's just folding wrong?

I tried this and talking to it nice and buying it dinner. Yet, still no joy.

It's tearing all to hell now anyway so I'm slated for a dealership visit.

Turn out the boot doesn't like temperatures below 75F. It was 71 this morning and I noticed the boot was stiff, causing the issue. If you manipulate it a little bit it goes away.

In the afternoon it's not a problem since the cab is hot from the sun.
