Lol. I came from an F-150 and these Ranger tailgates are ridiculously light. My issue is I had a damper on the F-150 so I'm used to opening and letting go of the tailgate. Of course, when I do this on the Ranger, it slams opened so I really want a damper on it because of my old habit.

It really doesn't need one if I can just remember not to drop it.

I'd be nice to kick under the bumper like the SUVs and have it open, then a drawer open up over the tailgate and then....oh, nevermind.

There’s another thread with a different guy promising to make a damper. Not getting my hopes up because he’s been promising to get it done “this week” for a couple weeks now. Not bashing him because he’s not a manufacturer or aftermarket seller. Just a guy who fabricated a damper himself and has been encouraged to make some to sell here on the Forum.
