These RZ's are now super rare, and good condition low mile versions that aren't ratty or damaged and fetching 5 digits.

I had several 1982 Yamaha XZ550 Visions.
you either love em, or hate em

how can you hate a 550cc V-twin with a 10k red line that would pull the ton ??

those were rare 5 digit fetchers also (around $999.99)

man oh man a buddy of mine had one of those interceptors and hated it haha i got to ride it once and it was neat besides the fact it was rather gutless and a pretty poorly designed engine
You had to rev the crap outta it an put a bigger rear sprocket on. That V4 was nice an narrow so it handled well. The magazines of the day loved it for handling an breaking. When the inline 4's hit with their power advantage they went away

Wasn't there a Kenny Roberts edition of that bike? I had a 500 interceptor an it wasn't the fastest bike of it's day but it was so light an well balanced it handled great
Yup the classic yellow one see @Skeezix pics above. The 500 interceptor was a great bike indeed handled excellent. The RZ350, not so much. Bike was all engine but the chassis was spaghetti. I put a steering damper on it way back them to add stability. But I was not a track junkie way back then so less concerned about a chassis that was a flexi-flyer.

The Kenny Roberts RZ350 came in red too. Pick one up today!

Hey I loved the Visions! It feels like it was the spiritual predecessor to the Suzuki SV650 - a great standard V-twin of the last 15 years. A classic Yamaha I liked, and still kind of lust after even though they are extremely rare and kind of slow - Yamaha SRX 600. Made only 1 year in the US, 1986. Super lightweight thumper.

Edit: big fan of large, strange thumpers. Here's my KTM 690 supermoto. This thing was a beast though. 70 hp and just over 300 lbs.

I'm starting to look around for an older Japanese bike. 70s-80s Honda, Yamaha, Kawi, etc. Can anyone point me to a good site for motorcycle forums? Thanks

I remember those days. Years ago, I would ride untill temps got down to freezing or the state started salted the roads. Too many places for salt to hide on a bike. Now 50 degrees is cool enough for me.

Retired, work is a four letter word.
I have been riding my entire life, first bike at 12, a Hodaka Ace 90, then a Honda 250 scrambler, BSA 650 twin, Moto Guzzi, BMW 900, Kawasaki 1200, Honda GL1000, 2 Harleys, Honda VTX, and current Honda F6B 1800. Had a few dirt bikes but I was mainly a road rider. I have criss crossed the US , Canada, and made a couple trips into Mexico, from which I made an Iron Butt back. Put over 500,000 miles combined over the years. Too bad I am getting a bit old for those long trips these days.
My 1st bike.

I like either of the last 2 in the lower row. They're a little more subtle and look more like the older ones I had.

#7 is nice. I've never liked ones that are to bold that scream "look at me". lol
