Good quality LEDs will last a lifetime in a vehicle.

My Lariat LEDs have worked flawlessly.

The Baja Designs Squadron Pro fogs that are in my Ranger were moved over from another vehicle. They've gone strong for 5 years plus and I'd expect Ford quality, pre pandemic, to at least match those.

If you're concerned about longevity maybe look at the Alpharex halogen projectors with LED drop ins. That way you'd have replaceable bulbs.

Everything I have seen and heard about the factory LED is they are a great upgrade from the factory halogens. I have an XLT and hope to do the LED housing upgrade in the future.

You mention that your truck came with the halogen downgrade and we’re given a $500 credit. I believe you will have to come out of pocket just do this upgrade(going with a used set), and definitely have to shell out quite a bit of going new. Have you considered looking at an aftermarket option? I only say this because I feel like those that got the $500 credit/downgrade got shafted by Ford, and wouldn’t want you having to pay more for something that should’ve been on your truck in the first place.
I have checked Ebay for used, most if not all have broken tabs in different locations, I cannot understand why, are the headlight housings that brittle with a minor front end bump and the headlights survived with only minor damage, I don't really want to install used on a truck with less than 1,000 miles - (YET) anyways but aftermarket or factory new is still expensive for a Headlight that SHOULD have been installed (as ordered) - Dealer/Corp would not budge in making it right, If I walked away from deal, I would have only screwed myself, cost more to by dealer stock with them installed (over MSRP) or even used truck selling for more than I paid for truck. So, I just decided to take it, accept it, and figure out what avenue to take and fix it. Lesson learned - Post Covid - Era
The days of car sales team begging you to buy from them are gone and them doing anything for you to make the sale are gone. They just jack the price up a little more and wait for the desperate buyer that needs a car/truck right now - who feels they have no choice
sorry got off on a rant...

I recently tried a set of Alpharex Novas secondhand from another user on here. I swapped back to my already swapped in Lariat LEDs. The lighting was fine, I just didn't care for the startup sequence and thought the overall look was a bit too far and away from the Ranger's look.

With that being said, if anyone is interested in a set of Alpharex Novas at a steep discount. Let me know.

Had 10k mikes on AlohaRex Alpha black Pros when wife t-boned another car. L headlight busted all up, both lenses and tabs broke out, but all the LEDs still worked flawlessly. Replaced them with AlphaRex Luxx, which have the dumb startup sequence, but easily swapped the modules over from the Pros so great lights with no dumb startup crap.

XLT with halogen here. Got the Lariat LED’s on the way and will be installing them not long from now. Before I do want to see what might possibly be involved to replacing LED lamps if ever needed. Something tells me though it isn’t straight forward surgical operation
I think the only thing is you need FORscan (or perhaps the dealers canner) to enable the DRLs but its plug and play otherwise, just time consuming as you have to remove the front bumper, grille, and fascia to get the lights out

The factory LED"s on my Lariat are very good.
I really like the auto-high beam feature (not sure what its called) too.
Great headlights for my tired ol' eyes, I wear glasses too.
Not knocking the halogens but the same on my previous Nissan truck sucked quite frankly....

70k miles on my 2019 lariat and the LED headlights still work as they did on day 1. They’ve been fantastic!

I will say that I’ll upgrade to the Morimoto headlights in a heartbeat if they ever release an amber DRL version… But if I were you I’d get the Morimotos now.

My 2019 work flawless after 36k. Paired with OEM replacement Diode Dynamic amber pro fogs lights its inspires confidence driving on dark windy roads in inclement weather.

If I was shopping for a new Lariat the no led 500 dollar credit would be a deal breaker.

This is so true, the LED headlights were a deciding factor in getting the Lariat. If I have to go out on the open market and figure this out for myself anyway and loose money doing it why get the Lariat? I understand where the OP is coming from here but I think Ford really messed up on this.

mine have been good .. my original set was fine until I hit a deer so they got replaced .. the body shop said they was non serviceable so if anything burned out the whole assembly had to be swapped .. oem head lights at the time was 1300 per side

Well when Ford runs out of blue emblem FORD badges and has to lot park all the vehicles waiting for them being surprised about LED light shortages isn’t surprising at all

The difference is that ford thinks branding is non-negotiable, but it's cool to provide a $500 credit for not getting $2600 worth of functionality. If they gave out trucks with no ford logos and a $500 credit very few people would think ford was screwing its customers.

In my 2019 XLariaT I replaced the stock halogens with Lariat LEDs after a year (Dec2020).
Got them off eBay (I think around $500? for the pair). At least 1 had a broken tab - the pictures were the actual part so I picked one that was missing what I thought was the least critical tab. Have had no issues with shifting or further breakage. The other was missing a cap.
Lots of threads on this and a really good video on how to do it - heads up - you have to take most of the front grill and fascia off! Oh and FORScan is involved - not a big deal, but FYI.
Mine are still going strong. And a HUGE improvement over the halogens.
But if you have an Fx4 and still have the stock shocks the low beam horizon line will make you sea sick!

I have 22 lariat , came with led headlights and fog lights. They look and work great so far. I do a lot of night driving and they illuminate the road quite well.
