I'm conflicted to consider this aftermarket solution or go one-piece DS...

I guess it depends on the issue you are trying to fix and how long you plan to keep the truck, not to mention how you use (work, off-road, DD) your Ranger.I'm conflicted to consider this aftermarket solution or go one-piece DS...
If I could go back in time I wouldn't have got it. Just my experience, but if you have vibration and your carrier bearing isn't the root cause of it installing the JXB carrier will only make it worse. Time and money was better spent at a driveshaft shop in my case. Unfortunately I didn't figure that out till after I installed it.I'm conflicted to consider this aftermarket solution or go one-piece DS...

The one piece is not always a guaranteed fix either... mine certainly wasn't as i had to return it and go back to the 2 piece ...I guess it depends on the issue you are trying to fix and how long you plan to keep the truck, not to mention how you use (work, off-road, DD) your Ranger.
One solution is half the cost of the other... Good luck...
I suppose the 'clunky crap' is the shaft requiring service (re-lubing) and it could be tackled at the same time.I'm installing it this weekend. I seriously doubt the vibration and clunky crap could get much worse. If it reduces it even 50% it's a win to me.
I will say it did get rid of the clunk for the most part.I packed the shaft back in the spring, didn't solve all the problem. The support is giving too much, but yes, I'm going to pull it again and clean and pack it. Pretty easy and might as well. And you're right, the solid bearing is an upgrade IMO. We shall see, at this point fixing stuff on it has become a hobby![]()
For me it took care of the strange feel of the OEM jello bushing. I’m using the comfort bushing and it feels much firmer. I’ve had to do some tweaking via shimming the housing to fine tune the slight vibrations I first sensed. But all in all I am pleased with it. I have a Tremor so it’s 1/4 the cost of swapping the driveshaft.I packed the shaft back in the spring, didn't solve all the problem. First of all, exactly what did you do that required it going back together? Did you install the JXB setup? Did you do the complete unit or just the partial one?Ok, good news first: All the slop and shifting issues are completely gone! No more clunky stops and starts!
Bad news: Vibration from hell starting at about 35 mph. I noticed when I got together the shaft was raised so I put an extra washer on it, didn't work. Any suggestions? Maybe washer/shim?
Installed the support, no new bearing. I made some adjustments and the vibration is from 45-55 or so now.First of all, exactly what did you do that required it going back together? Did you install the JXB setup? Did you do the complete unit or just the partial one?
Sounds like my exact experience. I tried washers, spacers, JXB sent me the extra soft bushing. I tried cutting the bushing to make it softer. Helped, but didn't get rid of it.Installed the support, no new bearing. I made some adjustments and the vibration is from 45-55 or so now.
You still using the support or you do something else? I may scrap it, I may see if it softens up. It has cleaned up a lot though. It's just too much vibration. I'll wait and talk to them first but it's bad from 40-57 then get some above 70 but not terrible, about like the norm.Sounds like my exact experience.
