the one piece shaft is not for me. several roads in Texas have high speed limits for long stretches and I would be pushing my luck with the critical speed of the shaft way too often. 70, 75, even 85 are pretty common. I know some will say just go slower. The average person has the false belief its "ok" to go five over. so 90 is the speed others will be going. if im going 65 or 70 im basically a traffic hazard that everyone will be tailgating and flying around like crazy which is not safe. I need to be able to do at least 85- 90 safely to not get run over by dummies lol.

The critical speed of the factory 2 piece is basically equal to the Tom Woods shaft. Hence the governor.

I think Dana has an aftermarks parts area, or at least they used to. I don't have the contact info but maybe someone of the forums has contact info...

for those interested dana / spicer does make some upgraded parts that are direct fit for our trucks. this u joint has a much longer life cycle than the stock and is grease-able. less than 30 bucks.
