Issues with Sync after dealer did updates (24B47)

The only other option is to try - Forscan and see if the TCU Module will load, if it does do a TCU Self Test - (Reboot) - This will force a power cycle of the TCU at least this will possibly isolate a Sync Software vs TCU issue

As I believe the issue lies within the Software Load not picking up the HS4 Can network communication from the TCU or the TCU is Dead and not transmitting

Update: Took it to the dealership today, the service advisor says the technician did perform a reset and software install but still couldn't get the TCU to work.....

Dealership says they will contact Ford tech line to assist so its going to be another trip back to the dealership again next week....

Just giving an update,

Just got off the phone with tech support from Ford, tired of waiting for the dealers service advisors repsonse.

The tech support walked me though the settings over the phone and we ran into somethin unsual.
The "Connectivity" menu is missing on my dash setting menu.
Also Ford noted that they have not gotten any signal from the truck since the 27th of September (The day I took it to my local delaership for the Sync update).
Ford has givin me a Special Service Message number for me to relay to the delaer with instructions so thier service advisor can check on my vehcicle.

Well...haven't heard back from the delaer yet. Need a favor, can someone send me a picture of the FordPass > Connectivity Menu on thier screen? Seems our local tech insisting that these features are not availalbe in my area, but I had Ford Pass working prior the recall update......

Update.....Till this day my Sync hasn't been resolved.......dealing with the dealership thats dragging thier feet......excues saying they are waiting for Ford Tech line to response after all the information I gave them such as the SSM number, ect......

So with no luck with the dealership....does anyone out ther have an update solution? Seems now my delaeship has gone silent on me on this issue. Can't connect to FordPass becasue that option on my AIP is missing, there no menu for Ford Pass on my screen......

Wow, what a crappy dealer experience.

I wish I could help with your truck’s issues but I can only think of how to handle that dealership…

Since the dealership reloaded software and it still doesn't work, it may be worthwhile to pull the fuse F9 in the BCM again to see if it restores the TCU operation. Otherwise, can you try another dealership?

I tried that with no luck. Unfortunatley I dont have an option for trying another dealership. (Live in Guam, isolated island).... =(

its a lot harder to ignore you, if you're standing in front of them. I would go in and see if you can make progress. Talk to the head of the department.

Being that you are in Guam, I vaguely remember someone posting that - Remote Start was not an optioned feature via Ford Pass in some ROW Rangers, so Ford Pass being key factor.
I wonder if it is a possibility that Ford Pass was installed (OEM) and it was not supposed to be.
The dealer did the update, and it wiped it out.

So now it boils down to what got wiped, is it software related that they updated or is it As Built data that was changed in the APIM. I have a hunch the As-Built data was altered and when the Sync Software is scanning for what needs updated it passes the Ford Pass Connect and TCU as it sees them not optioned in the As-Built data.

1. You can try the Update yourself using Cyan Labs - for the Software side, to see if this route will load the Ford Pass Connect back on the Sync Screen

2 Using your VIN# get the As-Built data from the ford services website and compare all Hex Lines in the APIM , FCIM , ACM and TCU to what they actually read on the truck - (You need Forscan for this)
I have a HUNCH something was changed here from the factory As-Built files, and this could possibly be the reason they are telling you the truck did not come with that option, if they loaded a newer set of As-Built files as far as they are concerned and if I am correct the As-Built files have everything turned off for the TCU thus no TCU installed means no reason for Ford Pass to load with the Software updates.

2 (KEY) As-Built Data files are:

APIM:
7DO-02-02 & 7DO-02-03 for my quick check as a start for checking (compare)
and
All As-Built data for the TCU (754)

Quick update....

After a couple of trips to the dealership, a new AIPM is in order after mutiple attempts to reprogram the AIPM to recongnize the TCU......

New AIPM is expected to come within 4 to 6 weeks.....

Five months later..........


FINALLY they got it to work.
AIPM was replaced, but the techs ran into an issue.
Interesting that they ended up getting tech support from Ford.....Thailand.
Not sure what they did but now my FordPass can see the truck.

Tested to make sure that everything is functioning (remote lock, remote start, maintenance, ect.)
Just glad this is over because the annoying "911 not functioning error" was driving me nuts everytime I started up the truck.
