I gave up trying to connect my phone to my Ranger through ford sync about a year ago. Only went as far as cycling power to my phone, to the truck, connecting truck to WiFi and updating software, but to no avail. Would this be something that needs to be escalated to hardware failures within the cpu of the truck??

If you perform a system reset on your Sync 3 head unit; Settings -> General -> Master Reset

This will unpair any connection your truck has to the Ford Pass App, and the app should prompt you to pair to the truck once again. For extra peace of mind you could clear the cache and system data from the Ford Pass app as well.

On Android you long press the app icon, click "App Info" and find "Storage and Cache" Tap the little trash can under each option "Clear Storage" and "Clear Cache".

For iPhone I'm afraid you'll have to google instructions for this unless one of our iPhone user friends chimes in!

What is the trucks - current Sync Version?
It needs to be 23188 - the most current and stable version.
If not you will need to update it via USB

I’ll give the master reset a try, and look for clear cache on the iOS app. Thank you !

I’ll check that version later when I’m home. How would I go about loading that version via USB if it isn’t the current on my truck?

Left side of steering wheel under dash. Video shows how to access.

the inverter fuse I blew is under the hood under that block, its a pain in the ass to do, the 150W inverter in these trucks is really worthless anyway, its only good for a night light LOL I carry a 750W that plugs into a lighter jack for a laptop, for power tools I carry a 3500W
