I can't say enough good about the supercab.

BUT ... that's highly personal. I did fit my daughter-in-law in the back for a quick trip to Harbor Freight, but that's something that will rarely happen.

The supercab is good for me and Kate and Cheech! He's a little tough guy at 20 pounds and the supercab rear (with custom mattress so he can see out) is just big enough.

We also like how easy it is to access the small bit of space without needing to walk around a rear door.

The extra foot in the bed was critical for or summer kayaking, the supercrew bed would have been frustrating for us.

I love, love, love the supercab. =)

The dealer I got mine from orders SCABS more that CREWS. I asked the sales manager what was the reasoning behind doing that. He said the CREWS say on the lot for a few weeks when we get them. The SCABS are sold before they get off the trucks!

That’s the way I bought mine. It was on a truck 2 days out. I slapped a deposit down and picked it up 4 days later. They told me 3 other customers were wanting to do the same thing I did but would have to wait for the next delivery.

I love my supercab - wouldnt have bought a crewcab since I camp out of the back of my truck, I need a 6' bed.

I'm a shorter/smaller guy, and honestly the back seat isnt that bad. You can put one person in the back for a long road trip with the same comfort as 3 in the back of a supercrew. I've spend hours back there with buddies driving my truck on long trips with my legs out sideways and been as comfortable as ever.

I've had 4 people in the cab going skiing for 2-3 hour trips in each direction and nobody complained there either. I would stick anyone over 6' back there for a super long time, but its honestly pretty manageable.

I bought my truck for me, my partner, and our dogs. Our friends can sit back there if they want, otherwise they can drive themselves!!

FWIW, my last two trucks have been crew cabs with 5' beds. I have not had any issues carrying our 12' long Kayaks in the bed. The truck prior to these two had a 6' bed and I don't feel the extra foot made any real difference.

We have a pair of Sea Eagle razorlites that fold up into rather large "backpacks" plus a bag of gear each, then an ice chest, chairs, and all that fun stuff. It fits and lets us close the tonneau cover for piece of mind when stopping for whatever reasons.

I also come from the use of older work trucks with their massive beds of 8 by 5 feet! So the Ranger feels small to me, but for my uses, it's more than adequate.

I also like the slightly greater payload of the supercab - but that's all mental for me, in reality, I'll never push it.

But I really do like the cab access I have with the suicide doors.

Keep in mind, that if all had gone to plan at the start of the year - I'd be driving a Maverick! Now that's getting pretty small and would make my dump runs far less satisfying! =D

@Dgc333 How do you carry them? I had placed a 12'6" sit-on-top diagonally in the bed but with the gate up and it stuck out a good amount. I always thought I'd use a headache rack if we had rigid kayaks (but that gets away from why we do the inflatables, the lifting up wreaks havoc with my compressed and herniated discs - bah on abusing my back in my youth and motorcycle accidents).

The Supercab has 50 less hp, built in China and all of the instrumentation is in Mandarin Chinese. Oh, the radio only picks up Chinese stations....

But they do have like a zillion extra tie downs on the outside of the bed!

If you were buying the gas I would put up with it too at near five a gallon?.

Without reading the whole thread (and I hope I haven't already replied), beyond the obvious differences, one thing that disappointed me with the SCAB is there is no B&O on the lariat trim, even though the price for the option is the same. I understand there is no room for a sub woofer, but either don't charge me full price, or give me a B&O head unit and upgraded speakers.

It's a small beef, and I think the stereo sounds fine. But, it's just principle.

When you have a voice like mine, you don't need a fancy hi-fi stereo!

You need earplugs and aspirin! =p

When I was searching for mine, I was surprised at the lack of SuperCabs on dealer lots. I was a bit pissed that dealers seemed to only be ordering SuperCrews.

All I could think of was, “Never mind trying to lure in those frigging Taco and Frontier owners - what about us loyal Ranger owners who’ve been waiting patiently to get a new Ranger - that looks like, we’ll, a Ranger?” ?

Talking to one sales guy, he said his manager didn’t order any SuperCabs because, “with the 6’ bed, they’re a foot longer”. Bozo ?
BOZO is right! S/Crews and S/Cabs are the exact same length!
