You'd have to be a "seasonal" damper user. Just pop it off before winter and store it until spring like a bear going into hibernation. ??
Dude what kind of a marketing person are you to not see an opportunity to sell a warm weather and a cold weather damper, not everyone lives in AZ. Just like some people have snow tires for the winter or yrs back even used to have a summer and winter thermostat, there is a market opportunity to sell a damper set, think increasing your sales - but for me I'm still damper resistant.

Exactly why I said to take it off for the winter just like you do with regular tires. For the amount of people who live in these extreme conditions it's to much work and not enough profit.?

You gotta test the market, or like some bike shocks have an adjustable damper, what was it that P.T. Barnum famously said ?

Um, not sure but I think P.T. Barnum said something to the effect of theres a sucker to buy a damper every minute.
I'm guilty. But in my defense I wasn't aware of the cold weather issues.
Maybe there's a class action case for the cold weather problems with dampers. ?

No worries you get a pass on this one. lol At -40 that's asking a lot of anything to work well but luckily there's enough sales here in the lower 48. ?
Yeah I’d be worried about my engine starting rather than my tailgate not slamming. Then again, at -40 I’m staying home. Plus when it’s thats cold I feel like damper or not your tailgate is staying closed.

100,100 miles tough! At minus 40, I don't work so problem solved...
If we ever get to -40 out here in Tennessee, I’m moving. Well once it warms back up that is. ?
I’ve done single digits a bunch but I can’t fathom another 40-50 degrees colder than that. Dr also just told me he thinks I’ve now got Raynauds which makes sense because we were out fishing the other day and I think it was 27 and it took me forever to tie my line. My fingers were completely numb so -40 scares the heck out of me.

Ooooo my first damper debate. I’m usually on the catch can one.
When it comes to dampers there are those who never owned one and those that love them.

Exactly! I never had one before I owned my Tacoma. Then I got so use to having one it's now a must have. ? Come to think of it, that was the only good thing about the Tacoma!?

Been there done that back east. That's why we're having such a hard time chasing another place to move too now. As much as I'm sick of the heat (mostly by August) it's really much easier to deal with then being bundled up freezing. Otherwise we'd already be in South Dakota as we really loved it there and are going back again in June.

Okay, I promised myself that I would never tell this story, but sometimes I disappoint myself. My county in SE Minnesota has a recycling center which I frequently utilize. A couple of years ago I went to the hazardous materials lane to drop off some old paint and florescent light tubes.

Being that it was at the height of covid the sign said to stay in your vehicle which I did. The guy opened my tailgate to get the tubes and let my tailgate drop. Bang! Then he slammed it shut and asked if I had anything else. I pointed out he missed the paint cans and he dropped the tailgate again. Bang!

Of course our illustrious moderator (@AzScorpion) immediately came to mind and all I could do was laugh! Don't worry, Duke (@DukeCanBuildit) , I'm still not getting one of those silly things!

Checkout Spearfish, SD. Beautiful area and nice little town. I could see me and my other half locating there in the future.

Dave, you gotta remember you can always put more clothes on, but there are only so many clothes you can take off! I don’t know how I would survive down there in AZ. I think the first day it got above 90 I’d just melt down into a little puddle of Alaskan and seep down into the sand :tumbleweed:
