I looked for a TSB or a explanation from Ford, does anyone know what Ford or the dealers are doing about this??
ignoring it.

EDIT; Has anyone addressed it with Ford??
I took my 2021 fx4 in for it like at 4k miles. first thing they told me was that they needed to change the oil and i would have to pay for that. even though i had changed the oil 1500 miles prior. so i had them change the oil and it still rose to the top dot when warm per the manual or slightly past. The service writer told me to go by where it is when cold, not hot. I reiterated to him that the manual says to check hot after 15 minutes but he repeated himself saying check when it's sat overnight. He said as long as the level is below the top dot when cold, i am good. I can say that the level rose to the top dot and seemed to stop there even when hot and i just replaced the oil after 5k miles on the change they did and the level when first checked was right outside the top hash when hot. Now it's about halfway to the dot dot when cold. It's at the top dot when hot, and the oil has about 600 miles on it or so.

please.....

at least honda stepped up, fixed the issue, increased the warranty out to 6 years and unlimited miles........
Please?
Seen this video…multiple times. Great if you own a 2019 or newer. No small comfort for guys like me who own a 2018…don’t live in one of the “21 northern states”…still consistently have increasing oil quantities (not counting the initial oil change I did at 5,000 miles & drained 5 quarts of “oil” out of my 3.7 quart oil pan…shame on me for thinking it might heal itself after extended driving) and, although I can’t smell it in the cabin…it’s very apparent when I open the hood, and of course, when I change the oil, as recommended, now every 3000 miles. When I ask my local U.S. Honda dealer about the N-60 TSB, their response….”uhhh, can’t help you…But, hey, since you’re here, we can rotate your tires…”

BTW, I replaced the Climate Control System…my heater works great.

If it lasts for 5 years and 364 days…I’ll let you know. Sign me, one of the “Exasperated”.

Your trucks are gonna blow up. It’s best if you just push them off a cliff. Remove the tailgate damper first though.

I guess the better question to ask is, does anyone know of a single case of a 2.3 dying because of this issue? I haven't found one. Mine has the issue too. Blackstone said it was at 2.8 after only 5K. They also stated oil was slightly thinned out too. I'm not overly concerned though since I haven't really seen any engines dying because of this. I will just continue doing oil changes at 5K and monitor.

They didn’t fix the issue. We turned our 2021 CRV back in because of it. 3K miles and 15% plus fuel dilution. Two different oil analysis companies same results. Both reported to stop driving it. Dealer didn’t bat an eye about it , gave us full purchase price for it and we moved into a Passport. They had two other 21’s with low miles on their used lot. It’s an inherent design issue. No fix except to modify driving habits.

im not an engineer or a mechanic or tech. so dismiss this if you wish. fuel in the oil is typical of direct injection engines. esp those that have longer idle time and lower rpm use. di has less time for the fuel to all burn so tiny amounts end up in the oil over time. it will damage nothing unless its a lot of gas getting by. if you have to start refilling the oil and changing the gas... then worry about it lol. drive the trucks folks.

Something else to say about this fuel in the oil thing. I saw a post yesterday about idling in cold weather and a link to the fuel in oil issue. I can say this for sure.....fuel is really crazy in really cold weather. I've lived in Texas most of my life and now that I'm up here in Colorado....4th winter....I see how much more fuel/oil/water I catch in my can, especially when we have cold, wet weather. I have to dump it every fill-up during the winter and maybe once every couple of months in the summer......so the chemistry of fuel could be the culprit with these engines and the combination of the weather and how much idle time your 2.3 has. I haven't noticed any oil rise but too be honest I haven't paid much attention to that in many miles.....I checked mine back at the beginning....saw no issue.....that's it. If you have issues with this I would definitely try a catch can to see if that makes a difference. It won't hurt your Ranger for sure....

Update for all. Just got my truck back from the dealer under warranty. needed a fuel pump. apparently the seals were pouring gas into the engine block somehow. Least I have the truck back.

I seem to remember some old 2.3 four cylinder engines could run without oil, just like the old slant sixes. They used them in the Slick 50 commercials trying to fool people to buy that stuff.

That’s because there was still plenty of gasoline in the crankcase to lubricate.

Any engine can run without oil, but for how long?

This was mostly said in humor but some of those engines ran with barely any oil for more miles than anyone ever counted. I borrowed a friends car in mid 1980's that had a slant six from mid 1970's. I drove about 300 miles with it on a road trip. As a gesture of appreciation I changed the oil for him. When I went to drain the oil not much came out but a coffee cup of sludge and water. When I told him what I did for him he laughed. He said he never changed the oil in it. He looked at the dipstick about once a month and put enough oil in it to show up on the dipstick.
