WOW! One delayed response with one problem and everyone wants to jump ship. This is the largest gathering of chicken shits and fear mongers that I've ever seen. And I've been on forums for over 20 years! Shame on damper man, can't even hold a tailgate. ?

I'm sure you would've been happy with your truck sitting dead with NO response for hours!

People have the right to know (good or bad) about others experiences and make their own decisions from there. Mine was terrible while others have had good luck. Maybe it was a fluke (nothing is perfect) but the way they handled it was what really matters.

Not gonna lie, all this has me questioning my plan to go with Unleashed for my tune... They were first on my list for quite some time, but I do find myself leaning more towards Livernois especially after hearing how well MP1 performed with it. I think the fact that Ford uses their programmer and such for their own in house tune does give me extra confidence.
I really love my Unleashed tune. Torrie was super responsive when I had an issue trying to install my tune. He worked with me at like 8pm on a Friday night, and he certainly didn't have to. I hate that AZScorpion is having an issue with them, but I truly feel like his experience is the exception, not the rule. Just my $.02.

Thanks. Plus I've said it many times maybe it's just a fluke thing but the way they handled it was bad. I shouldn't have to spend hours of MY time diagnosing this with SCT that should be their job. But now almost a week later and I still haven't received my refund for the tune?

I just want everyone to know what they "might" be getting themself into IF they have issues with them. I think most here know I don't openly bash a company just to be an ass. But, when I receive what I believe was poor service you bet I'll let others know. I've already send them an email asking if they processed the refund because I still haven't received it yet. Capital One is very quick to process refunds so I know it's not a delay on their end. I'm not going to hold my breath I'll receive an answer.

I think companies really show what they're made of when issues like this come up, and a poor response certainly doesn't inspire others with confidence. I know both companies offer great tunes, but it seems at least right now that Unleashed isn't living up to their reputation with their customer service. Things might change when I finally order my tune... whenever that might be...

Turns out once you've bought the new (first) house, things don't magically start getting cheaper haha

Exactly this. I don't expect any company to cater to me but I do expected them to figure out what the problem is. I don't feel like I should spend hours with SCT diagnosing this when I bought the tune from them. I also don't think many here would feel comfortable doing this either wondering if it'll work or be dead.

The tech at SCT was really great and I have confidence in them to fix this. I'm just not going to be the one going back and forth doing this with my brand new truck. But if they (Unleashed) feel I should that's fine I'll go elsewhere because my time is valuable too. If they really are that busy and backlogged either hire some more help (yeah, not easily done today) or don't take on so much you can't give quality customer service.

Anyone ever had any problems with their instal? I finally got around to unlocking my device (It was Docs so it needed to be unlocked from his truck) and ordering this tune this morning and have had nothing but problems with it. First the device didn't take update/pair and I had to call SCT so she could refresh it on her end. The I was able to see the tune under programing. I was like great this should be easy now...Nope!

I've flashed tunes many times with my Livernois tune and know to have everything off, my phone was even shut off and hit the 93 performance tune. After going through the blocks I got an error # and it said download failed. Wtf! So I pushed the start button and then tried to start my truck, it's totally dead...nothing! Now I'm freaking out and emailed Torrie who honestly never gets back which I'm surprised because everyone here raves about how fast they are but their email support is some of the worst I've seen.

Now mind you It's 1:00 pm and I've been doing this since 6:00am so my patience are wearing thin and now my trucks dead. I then called SCT again but am now on hold so I decided to go back out and try to see if I can return it to stock. I flooded their email instructions and when I hit program it went straight to downloading the blocks again, no screen to select the tune or stock. I just waited while it did its thing and then once down this time it said "turn off ignition" so I did and it said Successful. I crossed my fingers, hit the button and it started up. :whew: Now I'm still on hold with SCT so I took it for a drive and all seems fine then she comes back on and I tell her what happened and she says "no, that's not normal" but the tech guys are swamped with calls right now so if they don't get back tome todayI should call first thing at 9:00am tomorrow when they open and run it by them.

Before all this I emailed Torrie to let him know what happened and here it is 3 hours later and no response. Sorry but right now I don't trust this tune or this company and I'm to afraid to touch it until I talk to SCT tech support. While it seems to be driving ok I'm leaving on a 5,000 mile trip on Friday and now have to worry about this! I might just return it to stock tomorrow and be done with it. This is what I was afraid of happening 3 years ago when I found out they have no phone support and I was nervous about just dealing with someone back and forth over emails. That's why then I went with Livernois and I never had these issues with them. Plus when you call them they help you on the spot!

This is the first error I got. The tuner was paired to my device as it showed my Vin and all my info. SCT just had to do a refresh and the second one took and she could see it on her end.

I guess you forgot my wonderful ranger left my ass walking 40 miles from home at 1 week old and man did I get chastized on this forum for not being a fanboy of a junk brokedown $42,000 truck.

This is one of the reasons I haven’t bought a tune - the truck came with a lot of power, I don’t have a need to add more. The shift points aren’t great, but “ if it’s not broke, don’t fix it “. I’m not a Ford technician, and don’t want to be. Just my two cents.

I either forgot or have missed that one. I would've been pissed too if that had happened to me! It is always different when it happens to you and it's your vehicle so others shouldn't be so quick to judge.

I've said it many times and will stick to what I've said you tune/mod at your own risk. I accept that, but the way they handled it was what I'm most upset about. I'm not going to beat a dead horse any longer, it is what it is and lesson learned from this company.

It does have sufficient power and that's not really the main reason I had a. Livernois tune in my '19. While the added hp/tq are nice it was the smoother shifts I was looking for and that didn't disappoint. It was much better than stock and having the power there was/is an added bonus. ?

Finally bit the bullet and purchased one tune from Unleashed. I didn't want to be switching back and forth between tunes. I don't really think the truck needs more power, it's just that I can't keep my hands off things, and I always try to improve efficiency and power to my vehicles without pushing it to its limits. The BDX tuner came in one day which was way faster than I expected. I told him what kind of hauling I do with my truck (no towing), and he sent me a 93 octane performance tune within an hour which was also way faster than I expected. The questions I asked him were literally answered within minutes. So far, so good. Did the first few steps so now, off to load the tune.

I really question why question Unleashed (who creates the tunes) when clearly it was a SCT (not designed or manufactured by Unleashed) issue.

It's similar in my mind to blaming your tire installer for defective tires that blow out.

Do you freak out on your tire store when the Firestones blow out 100 miles from home for not showing up immediately with replacements?

Edit to add: there weren't any other previous programming changes via Forscan, right? That screws things up with the tuner in my experience.

Well, after making sure my battery was up to full power and disconnecting my battery tender, the tune loaded up with no issues whatsoever. The procedure moved along quickly, taking only about 10-15 minutes. The truck did some strange things which almost made me sh*t my britches, but was over before I knew it. Might get to drive it later today or tomorrow. Torrie also stated I got the @TORQUERULES transmission file mixed in with it.
