I would go with whatever your tuner recommends. On my Focus ST, Stratified strongly recommended I go with colder plugs, the downside with that was that I had to change them about once a year.
I reached out to Aaron @5startuning and he said it was not required, but directed me to some plugs and advised it would only help, not hurt. I will probably scoop them up in near future.

Yeah they're not a negative, just be ready to swap them in a year or so. I knew mine needed to be changed when the engine would sputter briefly around 4k when romping on it

Guess I have to pony up and admit I was wrong......crow feathers don't taste good but...oh well.
Well are you going to follow Davy's lead and go back to the lone star state ? Nothing serious against Texans, where I live in SW CO they flock here in huge numbers, esp in the summer, close to 50% of the homes here are 2nd homes and the majority are from Texas, having made several trips to Texas in yrs past - Houston specifically in the summer I can understand why they head north. And when I mindlessly blather about Texans I have been reminded that they are responsible for a good deal of the local economy which is largely tourist based. Hell I even went for a ride with a Texan in his Razor to fish on his ranch - one of 3 ranches he owns and a $2m house here and another in Texas. He didn't want to deal with the airline hassles so he charted a private jet to take the family to Texas for the NY. I told him about my pheasant hunting trips to S Dakota and he began to look into property there.

Didn't see the movie but from what I've read about Nicholas Cage he's a piece of work made all sorts of dumb real estate investments and now has to make any movie that he can.

When retirement calls we'll likely head back home....or at least central Texas. Great area, still a bit humid but resembles the Tuscan region of Italy....Limestone hills, clear streams, and lots of deer, turkey and pigs to hunt and it's only 2 hours to the beach. We owned and lived on 5 acres in the 90's in that area, raising the kids in the country. It's just so much cheaper to live down there! We love it here in Windsor, just bought a new home a couple of years ago. I got in at 2.5% so I'm not likely to change my mortgage situation anytime soon. Plus our daughter, husband and grandkids live about 20 minutes away now, so grandma is in heaven! I would like to think I bring great expertise and passion to protecting water quality in Colorado. I'm an upland game bird biologist with a niche for wildlife habitat restoration so I'm into native revegetation after construction ops have concluded. Plus I keep them honest while they have a very disturbed site during construction.....I love my job and my boss so I don't mind commuting down to Arvada everyday. Heck, if it wasn't so damn cold we would buy land in Southern Wyoming and live there....

Just ordered this from Walmart, seemed like a good deal, thought I'd pass it on. Should have just kept my last one.

Just want to pop in to add that Leslie at Unleashed is pretty awesome too.

FedEx lost my tuner. A couple of emails with Leslie and I had it within a day.

Hopefully the children play nice at work tonight. That way I can be well rested to get things going in the a.m.

Got home this morning, hooked up the tuner to wi-fi, connected to the truck, emailed Torrie and went to sleep.

When I woke up my 3 tunes had been uploaded to the cloud. I snagged them and uploaded my 91 Performance tune w/ @TORQUERULES 's shift logic to the truck.

Wow!

Very nice!

I might ask Torrie to move the shift points down a bit. I'd like to be in 10th around 55 and cruise at about 1700 rpm vs the 70 and 2000 rpm I saw on my way into work. But I'm gonna let it run for a bit and see how I like it.

Once I feel like the 91 Performance tune is dialed in I'll start playing with the e50!

Should of done this two years ago!

Torrie and Leslie are fantastic. Torrie will get revisions, etc. back to you same day most times. It is crazy.

They are quickly dismissing all my concerns about remote tuning.

Also, anybody know where to get a set of traction bars?:giggle:

I just loaded a new version of my E50 performance tune with some revised transmission tuning. Basically what I'm going for is translating the sport mode firmness and quickness of shifts onto normal mode. That of course is already been tweaked. I'm going to drive a few days and then I'll let you guys know how it goes, but once it settles in I think it's going to be perfect.

An update: I believe that some of the issues with this transmission and wonky shifts in Normal mode are due to the strategy of trying to get near imperceptible shifts on Ford's part (most drivers are p***ies. Since changing the firmness/quickness (adjusting line pressure, etc.) in Normal to be the same as Sport (coupled with the other changes we have worked on) the weird shifts you get when cold (meaning the first shifts when starting out) are one, and after those first shifts and when warm the shifts are nice and precise. Not harsh, but precise. Honestly Sport is not harsh at all, but precise, quick, has more RPM hang, higher part throttle shift points, and engine breaking. Adding the firmness/quickness has made Normal a wonder and just like it should be. I think it will also lengthen the life of the transmission.

The A10 always has some wonky shifts after a tune flash so it has to "adapt" for a few miles, but with this tune revision these were minimal and after only 50 miles are gone (well, I got one slightly slow 5th gear shift when cold once, but NOTHING like it has been before this change and that was the only one. It takes more miles to fully adjust, so I expect this to not happen again).

If anyone has ever worked on an old school automatic you will know shift kits can be harsh, u-joint snapping, events after a kit install, but if you install a full valvebody, especially a manual valvebody, the shifts are just quick and precise. That is what this feels like.

I will report back in a few days to see how it has been with some more miles and with a recommendation of either yay or nay.
