I asked my dealer about this right after our last oil change. They go by the book, checked again after 15 minutes. Level was in the hash marks.

After driving home two hours, I checked the next morning. Level was between the hash marks and top hole. After sitting overnight, my level is always consistent, not rising, and stays below the top hole. I'm calling it good, but will keep watch.
Yes, I quoted that printed in the manual. Service manager did not disagree with me, but stated that Ford was instructing them to check it differently than the manual after requesting approval to dig further on the issue. That revised procedure is what I've requested in writing. They appear to be running warranty work like the medical field. Pre-approval for everything that costs money.

Yes anything out of the normal the dealer will do that. If the dealer just changed out your engine to fix this and sent it into Ford for payment they would deny the claim and the dealer would have to eat the cost.

Well, its been a week or two since my last post on here, I didn't end up calling dealership as I wanted to see if maybe i did indeed overfill the oil. Ive been checking it every few days and, as of tonight, its much higher (above the twist) than it was when I posted last, and it has an extremly strong gas smell compared to last time. Considering I drive every 2 days at the minimum and at least 20+ miles I have a hard time believing its from driving short distances, and while I don't speed, I do accelerate pretty quickly so i see 4000-5500 rpm. My cruising RPM is usually 2k, as the highways up here are 75. On top of it all my Auto Start Stop hasnt even engaged once since winter started, Im not sure if it is because its to cold, but ive tried disabling/enabling and it never comes on, no error message, nothing. There isnt any traffic lights near me, but when I go into the city i figured it should come on on the light I hit every time exiting the highway. Going to be calling dealer Monday.

I don't want to be discouraging but I couldn't take it anymore, last time I changed my oil, at 2500 miles and got 36 extra ounces of oil,a strong enough smell to almost smell like straight gas. And Ford tells me it's fixed I sold mine. Too much aggravation for a 2019 truck with 26000 miles on it. I won't be buying another Ford, when you don't back your product I'm done with you!

Yeah that's what Im worried about, if they fix it and it works, great! If not, I'll be lemon lawing it or trying to get Ford to buy it back. My oil level was fine until about 5500-6000 miles, after that it began rising. I get the A plan with Ford, so I dont even know what I would get to be honest, all the vehicles out now dont really interest me in any way. Now that I've experienced the utility of a truck, it would be hard to adjust back to living without one.

Mine was good to between 8 and 9 thousand before it started, hard to explain.

From what I have read so far on here, Ford is handling this the same way or worse than they handled the focus DCT issue. Which is not a good sign.
Probably gonna end up in a class action lawsuit, eventually! I was Worried if I did make it till the warranty expired and then had trouble I'm screwed. That much fuel in the oil has to be taking life out of that engine!

Almost exact same thing happened to me but i did stay with Ford, bought a 21 Explorer with same engine, 5k miles and have not seen the same issue, very happy so far.

Good luck , the Ranger is the only model I've heard with that problem!

Oil rising from fuel is only temporary. Once you get the oil hot for long enough the fuel will evaporate off. It does leave contaminates and such. if it was not for fuel and blow by we would never have to change the oil. I would think the more contaminated truck were the ones that drive shorter distances.
This is not totally correct. Oil breaks down from pressure and heat, which promotes oxidation, and would still need to be changed, even if there was zero fuel contamination. Many of us with this problem have long commutes to work, so the short drive theory does not apply in all cases.

You should not have to worry about over a quart of fuel in your oil just because you make short trips if that was the case they should State this is a long trip vehicle or warm weather vehicle!I Lol !just ran short on patience with mine , got tired of changing oil and trying to think of what else I could do to possibly help it!

I agree with you and don't blame you at all from getting out from under your issue. If Ford hadn't extended my powertrain warranty, I am sure I would have traded mine in already. This issue sure takes the fun out of ownership. Oh well, I guess I can start an Oil thread; "What Oil Works Best with Fuel Dilution" LOL.

I tried quite a few different oils even 5/40 never found the magic bullet, along with a few other things ! Good luck!

I changed my oil today as I wanted to get a sample to send off for testing and wanted to measure how much oil drained out. Engine cold, the oil was at 3/8" above max fill hole. I got just a little less than 6 and 3/4 quarts out of engine. I figure I lost a few ounces from the oil filter that was absorbed in the filter media and whatever the Blackstone lab container holds. I expected more oil to come out than that, but after draining for 30 minutes that is what I got. It has 1950 miles on it and when new, the factory oil was at max fill hole for baseline.

I put 6.25 quarts back in. After running it for about 5 minutes I parked it for the day. After sitting for a few hours, the oil level is half way between the max fill and the cross hatched area.

Going to send the Blackstone sample off to see what the lab shows for curiosity at this point.
