This is kinda the opposite I experienced with my 2014 Subaru Forester (FB 25 engine)....where the combination of "recommended" 0W-20 oil and cheap rings was making the oil dissapear with some people losing a quart of oil in less than 1000 miles in some instances. In my case it was never more than a qt in 1900 miles, but be that as it may, I ended up getting a new engine at 38k miles anyway. I let that block break in with factory oil and after that used RedLine 5W30 full synthetic, changed every 5k miles (suggested OCI was 6k miles back then, 5k after a TSB from subaru). Well, with just under 400 miles on my truck, I went outside and checked....level right at the hash mark and no fuel smell, for what it's worth. Engine build date 22-oct-19
