Decided to give these a try. Truck rides pretty good but a bit too much movement on the highway with the FX4. Quick install, about 10 minutes.

A little hint, leave the plastic straps on the shocks, install the upper bolt and raise the body until you can get the bottom bolts in. Then cut the strap and torque them down. done, no forcing the shocks up while trying to slam the bolt in. Easy peasy

One of my shocks was already gone after 4500 miles. Sad. Here are some pics. Pretty large improvement other than wanting to do the fronts now. Lol

I took the strap off to show the difference in length. I reinstalled it to install in truck.

Oh it definitely stops the bouncy feel in the rear. Much better, I think mine was worse because one of my shocks was already bad.

I am surprised the rear shocks are bad already. About how many miles are on the truck?

Damn, that sucks. So with you putting the fox rear shocks on are you considering the fronts as well?
I ordered Icon upper control arms and the front Foxā€™s. Iā€™ll install them maybe next weekend or the following. I figured I might as well just complete the upgrade.

Will those UCA work with stock rims? Iā€™m going to get the BDS ones but want to make sure they fit the stock rims with 285/70/17s

If I'm not mistaken they do. Usually they are used for helping the alignment go back into specs whith the leveling kits. The lift kit I have from Old Man EMU worked so well it was unnecessary.

I think they are bad from the factory. My FX shocks had 13k on them and I could compress/extend them pretty easily with just my arms and I'm not a gym rat. I considered selling the FX shocks but I felt that would be morally repugnant as it would probably endanger the buyer so I tossed them in the garbage can.

Since they have a piston separating the oil from the nitrogen, orientation doesnā€™t matter. The instructions show it mounting with the shaft side down. I did as well for a couple reasons. I figure the hardened steel shaft is less prone to damage then the aluminum body. Plus if the body is damaged, it can affect the shocks operation unlike older style twin tube shocks that have to be mounted body side down and have 2 separated chambers.

Fox does have ā€œroost guardsā€ available to protect the shaft as well.
