Yes and no. By all technicality any aftermarket part will void a warranty(unless stated like the Ford Performance tune that downgrades the warranty). With that said it still has to.be proven that said aftermarket part caused the failure. Would I suspect a aftermarket intercooler to cause a failure in the powertrain? No. Does it mean that it wont happen? Not necessarily, but again it still has to be proven. The only exception is with the Ford Performance Tune that down grades the warranty. You still have a warranty with the tune but after 3 years 36K from the vehicle original purchase date but after that you may be on your own because the Extended warranty company may say you are on your own. It also depends on what the extended warranty company will say.Does anybody know if this would apply similarly for increasing the size of the intercooler for the turbo? Would this be considered a modification to the engine that shortens the warranty life?
