Then why isn't it fixed by now?Me, the 10R80 has been out since 2017, two years before the Ranger got it, AND it's in millions of vehicles.

Ok, the software didn't change the flare I was seeing, but for a day or so it cleared up the hash engagements. Sounds to me like the same. Hopefully they get you sorted out!I had the reflash done ( no charge) and it was slightly better for a day or two then started having issues again. I put 200 miles on it and contacted the dealer who said to bring it back in. It got dropped off yesterday for the next step appointment that’s scheduled for tomorrow. It’s a 2022 with 16K on it.
Probably because it's not as big as a problem as people make it out to be.Then why isn't it fixed by now?
Problems are always bigger when they're yours than when they're someone else's. One has to ask whether it's tolerance issues or good old fashioned bad design.Probably because it's not as big as a problem as people make it out to be.
What percentage of the millions of Fords (and possibly GMs) have this problem?
IMO, it's probably due to manufacturing tolerances over the years, not specifically a severe design issue. So far, no problems on my 21 with 45K, but I wouldn't be surprised if it does grenade in the future. As long as it does it before 125K.
based on the fact that they did a redesign for one of the drums, I would say the initial design was not perfect. and the fix helps, but doesn't solve the problem for everyone.Problems are always bigger when they're yours than when they're someone else's. Here’s a great examplebased on the fact that they did a redesign for one of the drums, I would say the initial design was not perfect. and the fix helps, but doesn't solve the problem for everyone.
thats the valve body? Here’s a great example
That's what I want to know as well.I've had some minor issues with clunky/harsh shifts since I bought the truck. I did put the Unleashed 93 octane tune on it. I'm wondering how the dealership is going to treat this if I were to take it in for this TSB.
They certainly can blame it on the tune, but this is pretty well known issue, they will have TSB in hand, which means Ford is on board, don't volunteer any info , and they shouldn't ask...That's what I want to know as well.
But if they do a reflash or update, will that overwrite the tune? They certainly can blame it on the tune, but this is pretty well known issue, they will have TSB in hand, which means Ford is on board, don't volunteer any info , and they shouldn't ask...
That I do not know , I would think ? they would want it back to factory though...But if they do a reflash or update, will that overwrite the tune?
