I’m not ready to depart from my 70k mileage Ranger just yet but I’ve got one grandson and another one on the way and I will be needing more room.
With that in mind I’ve been shopping somewhat and have narrowed it down to the Expedition & F150 crew cab.

I also need room enough to load a recumbent trike into, it fits fine in my Rangers 6’ bed. I think it will fit in the Nav. and I know it will fit the 5’ full size bed in the 150.
Actually I would like a 4door Ranger IF they would offer a 6’ bed.

Im considering one of the higher trim level F150’s and maybe even the Lincoln Navigator. Besides fitting my trike into it I want a quite vehicle. It will probably be our trip/road trip vehicle. Storage and being quiet are two definite criteria.

I have yet compared dimensions between the two but was curious if anyone had or has both?
I would think fuel mpg’s will be about the same between the two and the Exp. may be quieter and more refined.

Personally I don’t need 4wd but unfortunately the higher trims only have 4wd in the F150’s, I believe I can get a 2wd Expedition in top trim. Again I need to spend more time on Ford’s website.
BTW, I’ll be adding a topper to the 150 and I have a trailer for hauling mulch or trash.
Curious of your thoughts.

I need a little bit more information.

First off how many people do you plan on hauling on a normal basis at max?

Next can you please give a picture of this trike you're talking about? I'm very curious

If you're okay with a midsize truck, does it have to be a Ford? I asked because the new Nissan Frontier is available with a crew cab 6 ft bed and is pretty basic when compared to all the other brands. Also pretty reliable. I know I shouldn't be promoting a non-ford product here, but I'm just giving a suggestion.

F150 offers a 6.5’ bed on their 4 doors. Probably not on the top trims, but a truck is a wheelbarrow with and engine, I dont shop top tier. Wife has a limited explorer for that.

Yeah, the 6.5’ bed makes for a long truck, I can get by with the crew cab short bed.
Unfortunately our agreement is she buys what she wants and I buy what I want, and she doesn’t want a bigger SUV than her Outback or a luxury car.

The Frontier is outdated and noisy.
ICE SprintX is my trike which is about 70” tip to tail, fits cross wise in the Ranger bed.

Me too! It would be the perfect truck for my use with a 6' bed.

Checking out the specifications, these two are so close there's very little difference, the F150 is lighter by 1100lbs.

I disagree with the current Frontier being Outdated and Noisy. If anything it is a more basic truck than what everyone else has put out there.

With that said you still haven't answered the two questions I have asked.

And you’ve haven’t answered any of mine and referred me to a basic truck roughly the same size as the Ranger.

Do you have any experience with the topic subject?

I asked about how many people you were looking to carry and a picture of this particular trike you're talking about. Yes I did mention a truck roughly the size of the Ranger. This is due to the fact that you mentioned this particular trike would fit in a 6 ft bed that the Ranger would supply. This tells me that any midsize truck with a 6-ft bed May fit the bill. You also informed me and everyone else on this thread that you would prefer more than just an extended cab. Unfortunately Ford is the only one at this time with the mid-size truck that is not offering a crew cab 6 ft bed midsize truck. For all I know you might be brand loyal and prefer to stay with Ford. That is totally okay. Perhaps that's why you're looking to go up to a full size vehicle. Maybe you're carrying enough people that a midsize truck just isn't going to do it even with a crew cab. That is something I cannot answer for sure, but it does make sense if it's the case.

So again if you could answer the two original questions about how many people you're looking to normally carry with you along with a picture of this trike you're talking about, that would be much appreciated.
