This is my plan, just have to rewire my dash cam to a different key on power source first so it isnt on 24/7.
Fuse 37 with an add-a-circuit fuse tap or tapping into the power under the plastic cover in front of the rearview mirror are your options there. There's a couple of write-ups on the latter method.

I picked up some piggy back fuses a while ago to do this with but ordered the wrong size, have to get the right ones and do that someday.

Yeah back when I needed ignition sourced power I thought I was good to go with my surplus of mini taps. Then when project day came I discovered the Ranger has micro2 fuses. Nobody has those taps in stock around here and it took 2+ weeks to get some. Is there really any need to keep making/using smaller and smaller fuses?! I feel in another 10 years we'll need a magnifying glass and special tools to pull and install them...

So I was planning on converting the dummy plug with silicone inserts into a working plug for some bed lights as I've seen others here do and unfortunately it looks like Ford has changed the dummy plug.

All I have is a hollow shell. ( See attached pics)

Anyway I'm I'm not paying the $35-40 that the specific Ford pigtail for this location is going for these days nor do I wish to pay a similar amount for the wolfhaus version that currently has an unknown lead time.

I'm fairly certain Ford wouldn't design a new plug for that application, but just picked an off the shelf 2 pin male and female..... Has anyone else figured out other part numbers, or industry standard plugs that work? Ideally I still want to avoid cutting into factory wires on a brand new truck.

It's likely used from another Ford harness. Either way I would say just spend the money. It's a small price to pay and you don't have to worry about the quality of it. A lot of those cheaper harnesses you find on ebay corrode or the pins are loose, etc. Not worth the headaches and time just to save maybe $15

Agreed. I thought the wolfhaus option with the extra lead was a no brainer. Nice quality, OEM-like bed power port and the guy doing them is great to deal with as well. If I was to do it again I certainly wouldn't hesitate and would wait for availability if that was an issue. I wouldn't bother wasting my time trying to cut corners, but that's just me.

Wound up finding a motorcraft pigtail for $15 on ebay, should be here Tuesday along with my week late BAKflip MX4 ( Thanks FedEx for sending it to CA instead of AL )
So factory plug at a reasonable price. $30 for a pigtail is insane and you're better off cutting the factory wires at that point

I used the BCM module to change it, Disabled Power Point Feature.

But can confirm after change that was the Hex change, 726-39-01 setting XXXX X1XX XXXX, changed 1 to 0.

I am going on 2.5 hours and power is still there vs stock setting of 4500 sec (1.5 hrs).

Confirmed! this also applies to the rear power ports AND the aux power to the bed.?

And Battery saver will shut them off if the battery gets too low. I can also confirm this as I was doing some testing with low battery (I discovered) and my bed lights would shut off after like 30sec after turning the IGN off. This was before my ForScan mods so had me freaked out a bit! The bed light install was not a quick n easy!
I just did this but I don't get power after my ignition is off. Only while on. I changed..

Power Point Feature: ENABLED\DISABLED
Power Point Timeout, s: 7200

Nothing.

So I did the hex edit above and nothing either. Anything else I need to change? I'm not looking for always on, I'm looking to have it one for 2 hours then to go off.

I disabled the power point feature - so it never times out
you need to leave it enabled and change the time only

Check your battery. Mine was low. I had to charge it to get the BCM to stop kicking the accessories off early. FORScan was reporting around 11.8V for me until I charged my battery. I increased the battery target to 90% as well to see if that will help.
