Possible dumb question here. But since the 10r80 was a joint venture between Ford and GM, would the Dexron ULV also be an acceptable alternative to the Mercon, Valvoline, Amsoil offerings as well?
I ran Valvoline for 3 drain and fills from 30k until I totaled my '21 ranger at 96k and was quite...
Wound up getting that '23 I looked at this morning.
Still has rear window defroster, not sure when I'll use that here in AL 🤣
Now time to bolt on all my old stuff to the replacement truck.
No one was hurt. Under normal circumstances what had happened probably wouldn't have done enough damage to Total it out.
Unfortunately for me, when I discovered the truck ahead of me getting off the interstate had decided 20 ft past the stop line to not continue on to the road we were going on...
100% My Seat Covers.
I went with CoverKing Leatherette/Vinyl . They held up well for the last 3.5 years of checking my customer's jobsites daily, hauling material my dispactcher couldn't get to site as fast as I could and most importantly they have withstood two Kiddos who do not realize that...
Welp, totaled my 2021 XLT Sport with 96K Miles on it. We are going to thrown a few K more on to whatever we get out of insurance to get something a year or two newer but with less miles.
Sticking with this generation as I have a few thousand dollars in model specific parts I just pulled off...
After double checking the clip hardware for the 4th or 5th time I bought a new set to swap out just in case ..... No dice still squealing in left hand turn. Decided to see the difference in how the wheels rotated when jacked up. Here's the driver side. Pretty difficult to get started by hand.
Still troubleshooting before I pull the trigger on parts.
Pulled the dust shield completely, no bright spots anywhere. Drove a couple laps around the cul de sac with it removed. At least I know it isn't that.
Took the caliper and bracket off again when I got home to get a better view of the dust shield. No rocks or debris stuck in there. Took a punch and hammer to the shield and knocked it another 1/16-1/8” away from the rotor. Double checked all the clips had plenty of clearance from the rotor...
Shield looked the same as on the right side and I didn't see any wear marks any of the times I've had the brake assembly off in the last 2 weeks troubleshooting.
I will take everything back apart again tonight in quadruple check ?
Well, looks like the bearings in my front left hub are going bad.
Scraping sound on front left hub while turning left only. Applying brakes doesn't change anything.
Even with that I was hoping it was still brake related as I changed my pads out 6k miles ago and it started about 1k after...
I do prefer having it sit on lengthwise bunks ( as my main kayak does currently)
But sitting on crossbars under its own weight shouldn't deform it for travel.
I had welded up prior kayak trailer from a Craigslist special I found while in college and had 1" square tubing wrapped in pool...
I throw mine in the bed occasionally... but this is the best thing I've ever done.
I have 3 kayaks and we regularly do floats. It's so much easier throwing the boats on the trailer fully loaded with gear than stripping down the boats to squeeze two in the bed.
Found a like new galvanized...
I've reached out to them to see.
Prior to the part being discontinued then the new one being offered at nuts prices there are tons of threads on bronco forums talking about using the Ranger engine cover on theirs and it working.
If they confirm I might be the guinea pig.
