We've been cruising thru the stores over the last few days, seeing no increase in store inventories, just huge quantities of shoppers, cars in the parking lots, ect--So drove out to Hickman"s egg store yesterday--Store was closed, but the LED sign stated, Open Sat!! Since we haven't seen any eggs in the supermarkets, I drove out to Hickmans this morn, ( 7:00AM opening), an encountered a line of "egg buyers", stretching down the highway!!! I waited with everyone else in line, got thru the egg store-employee's were in the lot, taking "CASH ONLY", and delivering eggs thru the vehicle windows, limit two 18 packs--came out, and the line on the hwy was over a mile long now--1 hour to get thru the process, and they are out of eggs, after a one hour opening!!!
I don't get how people can panic buy eggs. It's not something you can keep around like pasta, rice or a can of beans. Limited shelf life. There is one consumption rate for eggs and it shouldn't really be changing.

These are the same idiots who are lining up to hoard TP for a respiratory virus. :headbang:

As far as the tp buying... Sh... Happens at a known rate. Folks are afraid that the zombie apocolypse is upon us... As everyone is at their personal capacity to store things, production and supply should back fill most shortages. Our economy and production planning was to our previous normal. So much restaurant and business production that sizing for the home market just consumed its capacity. Its actually interesting to see some of the economic principals come into play here. Have enough to carry yourself to when production and supply chains catch up. With factory closings and mobility restrictions as this thing spreads... Who knows what capacity folks need or think they need... Some of this is fear some may just not knowing when their last clean wipe will be... I prefer to think we will all take this seriously enough to stay home until every last one of us is safe having removed the possibility of this respreading. If we all stayed 6 feet from each other and stop infecting others then we would be done in two weeks... We all know people think they are smarter and do what they will... Anyway be safe, get what you think you need and hope supply chains smooth out soon.

Hi Folks,

Have a good neighbor/friend that is a golfer. He plays 3 times a week. Courses are forcing two people per golf cart...stupid decision. Golfers are quitting in droves.... Courses are in financial trouble as the sport has gotten way too expensive, likely some here will not survive. As we are a older age retirement community, carts are necessary for much of the golfer populaton.

Best,

I deliver office supplies to 4-6 stores a day in MD,VA,PA,NJ, and DE. Lately it's just office chairs, toilet paper, paper towels, water, tissues, copy paper, clorox wipes, hand sanitizer, and laptops. Normally they stock thousands of items, but now it's just essentials and tax stuff lol. Everything sells out immediately or is already reserved.

There's quite a few drivers arming themselves. I don't recommend trying to steal from truck drivers right now, never know who's a marine combat veteran carrying his favorite 1911.

The economics of this really is interesting. When this is over and half the nation has a 6 months supply of TP in their house, it's going to hit the TP makers hard. That's when the new advertising campaign starts: "Charmin: Buy a couple cases today and be prepared!"

We didn't partake in the panic buying of TP and now we don't have much supply. Down under cleaning duties may soon be done with kleenex, and if that runs out, well I have a 2 foot high stack of motorcycle magazines.

We all know people think they are smarter and do what they will...
People are idiots especially college students. Nobody is spreading it more than college students.

In Wisconsin, the the biggest spread has been in Madison, a college town. With students that keep partying and don't give a shit.

Looking at the Spring Breaker video in contrast with the video about Japan is about as significant juxtaposition as one can find.

Sounds like many of those spring breakers have tested positive along with Rand Paul.

I see the unemployment numbers are spiking fast. I'm curious how the government checks will help things and if they will issue them for more than one month. I am not fan, however, of the bailouts for the large corporations. The last time we bailed out large corporations we got things like the Tea Party and Occupy and would make sense that a solution to the spike in unemployment not be something that started another movement.

With all that's going on if you have 5 minutes and 46 seconds to spare check this out. It might put your mind in a better place. At least for a while. :)

How is forcing two people to a cart complying with social distancing rules? I'm not a golfer but I think in my community it's 1 per cart. Heck I can't even sit alone in a booth because the restaurants are all closed to dining in, it's takeout/delivery only.
