Was loading up the truck today and noticed my passenger tail light chipped in the corner. I think it might have happened at the car wash as I don’t have the tailgate down often. Is this something that has been problematic? The design is pretty lowsy. I’d like to try and get it replaced under warranty but have 0 confidence that’s possible. It’s also $750 to replace before any help from @Benny. Put a thread in the WTB in case someone has one laying around for a 2021 with BLIS. Might try to epoxy the corner just so it doesn’t catch and get worse

Check your tailgate clearance. Mine was broken before purchase. It took some looking to find out the tailgate was out of alignment.

Mine is cracked too.
Judging by the gouging in the bed liner, the previous owner must have ejected riding mower on the freeway.
I've just been ignoring it. Maybe I'll get one at the local pick n pull.

I have occasionally checked the Pick-N-Pull lots, nationwide and other like type yards, no luck. I think it may be a few years before the 5G hits those type of lots, we are stuck with overpriced used parts for a while. It will be nice to pick up used parts at a great price when they do, as I have 5 pull it yourself yards in my area, I always love going to them, to only downside the part you need may or may not be on the truck, your chances increase if they have multiple options for you to pick from.
I think the main reason it may be a few years is the Lot has to buy the truck at salvage value and make money on it. Kind of hard to get let's say 20K (guess) of their money back in selling parts at a deep discount from other salvage yards.

Most salvage yards sell parts for about 50% of a dealer cost. (Normally), thus high dealer prices result in high salvage yards prices.

Did you ever figure out anything? I noticed a Chip on mine sadly no idea when or how it happened. Only thing I have slid out of the bed recently was a lawnmower which I admit i did late at night and tired but I don't recall bumping anything

For these small chips, these two things might be your next two best friends - you could easily build up a few layers of epoxy, then cover it with a small piece of the tape.

It’s also pretty easy to remove the taillight so you could do it on a workbench.

Or, get one of these keys, head to NH and steal @subquark ’s.

Sorry David - couldn’t resist. ?

I have a chip just like that, I thought "how expensive could a lense be?" Ouch, it was like 800$
It's still chipped.

I tried 5 minute epoxy colored with a bit of red food coloring. It was too difficult to tape it off and get good contact and not have it look a mess. I scraped it all off before it set and then sanded back the mess and rounded the chipped edges so it may minimize something else catching and called it a day. It’s a truck right? Honestly it’s a design flaw and shouldn’t be this way. Probably a cheaper manufacturing process than to have a totally rounded corner that doesn’t catch like every other vehicle on the planet including the F-150

Why not make a template of the damaged area, then buy a reflector. Cut it out and super glue it.

i noticed a small chip in the middle of the edge of mine, looks like either i or previous owner hit it while loading something. small enough i can ignore it but yeah, design flaw in a few ways// definitely too easy to hit them while loading.

Design flaw.... ?

When will it end lol
The light's design flaw combined with the bed rake design flaw make this incredibly flawed.

It's a wonder the Ranger can roll down the road!
