There's no way they would really pay this much. I only paid $21,500 for my base model XL 6 months ago. They want to give me $28,700. After paying off my loan that would put almost 10K in my pocket. I bet if I went there in person they would try to lowball me.

I'm not carrying their water, and I have no idea in your case, but from what I know from experience, their offer is the offer, and unless your car is way different than what you put in the quote then they will buy it for that price. I know it seems unbelievable, but believe it.

Oh, and you don't even have to go there. Get your quote and they will come to you and hand you a check. Take a few pics and load it on their truck.

And, just for information. I sold my outback to them for $8610. It showed up after about 2-3 weeks and it was already sold for $13590, plus taxes and tags.

Like many of you, I could not resist the temptation to check. It is $500 more than it was valued when I got it in July 2020. One weird thing is that the first time I selected that it has a suspension upgrade and the offer was $30995. I would gladly pay $300 to return to stock for almost $3000 more. I am not selling it but it is interesting.

Just ran through the calcs myself. $33K for my:

2019 Ford Ranger SuperCrew
XLT Pickup 4D 5 ft
15,000 miles

That's $4K over what I paid, though I got in during the fun 2019 late season $10K off black friday time frame. Today it's a $40K+ truck.

They are pretty well known for holding up their end of quotes. There have been a couple of guys on here who have sold and they did indeed not get lowballed. If Carvana is going to lowball you, they do it up front with the online quote, and according to research, they do it because they already have to much stock of that vehicle. So demand factors in. But the quote online, provided you are honest about condition, from what I can see generally is valid.

Sold my 2011 Ranger Sport 4X4 to Carvana March 2, 2021. Dealer offered me $13,500 , Carvana offered me $15,590. Truck had 51,000 miles. Their asking price was something over $19,000, with their fees they sold it for just over $22,000. Sticker in 2011 was $29,000.

This thread made me check - paid $35,750 in May '20, and with 7K miles, Carvana quoted this. It is tempting, but I am curious how long it would take to find another vehicle.

Keep checking.

My offer has gone up $1500 since April 2.

This is what has me seriously thinking about it as I won't be replacing it with anything right now.

Definitely! I’m afraid what those are going to start at though
And don't forget the inevitable "Market Adjustment" for the first several months.

I can also see a lot of people who reserved one getting it and then flipping it.

Here's one thing to consider if are jumping ship on the Ranger and selling it to Carvana, for example.

You will end up paying FULL SALES TAX on the next vehicle you choose, which could negate some of the "savings" you think will end up in your pocket.

The benefit of trading it in, which no dealer will probably pay you what Carvana is offering, is the sales tax savings. You only pay sales tax on the trade difference.

Here's a chart of wholesale prices. It's probably just gonna go higher. Each data point is a week.
