I traded my truck in yesterday and don't need my SCT tuner anymore. It's unpaired. It has some preloaded tunes plus custom tunes I bought. I'm not sure if you can use the custom tunes as I had to send the strategy code from my truck to have them made. Stage Three Motorsports has them on sale...
You could put an amp clamp on the power wire for the steering motor and check the current draw.
Current draw should be the same whether turning left or right. If it draws more power when turning right then there may be something mechanically binding. If it draws less then I would expect an...
Definitely sounds like something in the driveline just starting to wear out. Possible causes might be:
1. drive shaft support bearing.
2. rear pinion bearing
3. maybe a u-joint starting to go but usually has vibration with it.
4. transmission output shaft bearing (usually has a whining noise...
I swapped mine out but it's kind of a pain in the ass. I used the install kit for the smaller sync radio. The wiring kit worked fine. The 2 bottom screws have nowhere to thread into so I ran zip ties through the holes which ended up working really well. The trim hides it anyway. The hazard...
I believe this has the relays for the 4 pin trailer plug as well as the wires ran under the steering column for the RedArc to connect to. Ford isn't always the greatest when it comes to naming their parts.
It's the trailer brake module. Not sure why it would be clicking though. Unless you were resting your foot on the brake pedal causing the brake lights to come on.
A tune, muffler, down pipe, intercooler and charge pipes would be safe. That should get you at least 350hp which is what the Focus RS 2.3 makes stock. Once you go over that the reliability can get a bit sketchy. The stock internals weren't designed to handle any more.
Don't forget aftermarket turbo, fuel pump and injectors. That'll get you into the 450hp range :D.
Which would be fun for a while until the bottom end go's kaboom.
To me it doesn't sound like the regular injector buzz. The rate is too slow like it's just one cylinder. My old Durango has piston slap on one cylinder and sounds just like this. It go's away once it's warmed up.
For reference here's what my truck sounds like on a cold start.
