Have a 2021 Lariat 4x4 and my OEM Hankook A/T are wearing thin. What has been the best A/T in your experience? How have they done regarding noise/mpg?

I live in North FL and will be doing mostly city/highway with a lot of rain. Only occasional off-road and maybe some towing in the near future.

Still have the factory 18's and not looking to change at the moment. Thanks!

That's my dream tire, but I'm in New Hampshire. I did live in Miami for 11 years.

So many variables into what is the best tire and, after a zillion threads here and every car forum in the world, there is no single best tire for the Ford Ranger.

BUT ... there are a handful of really popular ones that many swear by.

Do a search and spend a few days reading many posts until you start coming up with what feels right for what you want.

I'm sticking with one day getting Nokias but, in the meanwhile, I'm happy with my snow chains!

Good luck! =)

If you are going to mainly be on pavement, maybe just replace them with the factory Hankooks. If you want an upgrade quality wise, maybe something like a Michelin LTX (but get ready for sticker shock).

I personally think the BF Goodrich K02 (or K03 if they make them in your size) are the best AT tire, but way more than you need for largely highway with a little off road thrown in. Just my opinion, that and like 5 bucks will get you a Grande Latte... :)

I really like all aspects of my Michelin Defenders so far. Yes they cost a little more, but feel it's worth it. They are rated for higher mileage, though that is yet to be seen. They handle beautifully. Probably never buy another tire.

I can see me replacing the factory issued Bridgestone with Michelins as well. Hoping to make it to the end of the year this year before that becomes a necessity.

I think the original hankooks were discontinued, so you won't find them at your local tire shop. There's a newer version, but it presumably wouldn't be an identical replacement.

Watch this guys videos, all of them on tires.

he geeks out on a bunch of tires and the differences not just in tread patterns, but sidewalls, ply, rubber composition and all kinds of nerdy things.

I went with Ridge Grappler again, I wanted to go with wildpeaks this time but I found a deal on them that I could not pass up, so I went with them again, I am happy with them, they do good in snow and mud and the ride is like a truck, well because it is a truck, I run them at 41psi that might add to the feel LOL
the only one issue when I went from 285/70 to 285/75 is a little more noise....
