Just get an Autosock.

Maybe I can be the dealer since Dave has rights to the damper.

I've heard from some that Goodyear Duratracs with studs are pretty much unstoppable in the snow/ice.
I'm sure they are.

Without studs they are very good in unpacked snow, not good on hard packed snow, and terrible on icy anything.

I just got mine this summer, so I haven't had a chance to try them out personally. However I have friends that swear by them, so i'll find out this winter

Fellow Alaskan here.

I run Hankook iPikeX studs on my Tremor. Absolutely love them.

Good luck studding and unstudding tires seasonally. Shops won't do it for you, you'll need extra tools to do it properly on your own, you'll wear your tread down too fast in a season or two and then toss your studs in a matter of a week.

Studs are all in our all out, at least to the best of my knowledge. You can't swap them often.

I'll also say, you have a newish vehicle, I always question when someone spend good money on a vehicle and doesn't spend money for the best item that keeps your vehicle connected to the ground.

But as far as tires, all the Hankook variations have been good, the Nokia s are supposed to be good too. Mediocre to good from Firestone.

And I like studs over a non-studded like Blizzaks.

I'm a wainwright baby just here until july.
Winter is 2/5 over. Put two 80 lb. sandbags in the bed and don't worry about it.

???? By my calendar today is the first day of winter.
I go by the weather, not the calendar. We get snow in November and early December, therefore it's winter.

Thats what I’m doing, I don’t drive enough in the winter to justify spending another $900 or more on tires. (This year anyway)

Here’s a question, I’m getting my RSI cap installed on Wednesday, it’s about 180 lbs. Those bags won’t be necessary you think will they? Maybe just keep one at the very end by the gate?

oh, and pro-tip: use gravel bags instead of sand. If there’s a hole, gravel won’t be such a pain in the ass to clean.
Sand, because you can use it under the tires for traction on ice. Never know when there might be a damsel in distress!

With that logic then October should begin winter and May end it for me many years. But in reality any snow fall in October has melted by noon the following day, November snow will be gone by dark the following day and it is mid to late December before we get any snow that requires shoveling. Just the opposite on the back end by late March any snow fall just doesn't last.

We’re in Alaska, you know… real winter? It snowed once in September this year actually, and once in October… but after November 1st, if snow hits the ground… it’s pretty much here to stay until the end of April.
Well Alaska is a different beast you guys get little or now sun most of the winter too.

I never lost the snow we had in Sept. Plus the weight of it on the leaved trees destroyed half my birch trees. Looked like a winter hurricane came through.

And the snow never melted. Granted, I'm on the dark side of a mountain.

Alaska winter darkness sucks.

If I drive around for an hour, think I could spot 50 Taco’s? I think I could.
I think you're underestimating. I will say though, driving around this afternoon, I might have seen 8 or so Rangers. We're growing
