Maybe not, I think I saw Brandon at the 805 off-ramp to Imperial near the Marketplace HomeDepot with a cardboard sign…Did they get you all fixed up yet?
Thanks. So within a month or so of each other. To bad we haven’t been able to get the build dates from the other failures.07-20
All fixed up, running great!Did they get you all fixed up yet?
What is the goldilocks zone window? My build date is 06/20. Am I in the window? Thanks. So within a month or so of each other. To bad we haven’t been able to get the build dates from the other failures.
Right now there’s two build dates with the failure. 07/20 & 08/20. There were 3 or 4 other 2020 failures posted here that owners never replied with build dates. The 07/20 & 08/20 could have been built a few days apart or two months apart. But without the actual complete dates from the window sticker it’s impossible to know for sure. Also not sure if it’s an instantaneous failure or a fatigue failure that you could spot ahead of time. But if I had a 07/20 or 08/20 build I’d be looking. Wouldn’t hurt to give your 06/20 a good inspection. What is the goldilocks zone window? My build date is 06/20. Am I in the window?
Not failed or no visible cracks?06/11/2020 build - not broke
I have a 2021 Ford Ranger Lariat Tremor with 120k miles and just had the exact/identical belt tensioner bracket snap off as well. If you look at my pictures you can definitely tell it broke in the exact same place. This has to be a timing chain plate cover defect in the casting. I also put in a ticket to the Ford Customer Experience Specialist for Ford to take a closer look at these issues. FYI... The cost to fix this Ford manufacturer casting defect is $4k.6am, Saturday morning, I pulled out onto the arterial and got up to speed. Then a violent clattering from the engine, "check brakes" and "low oil pressure" warnings, so I stopped immediately and shut her off. I found the serpentine belt shredded and wrapped around the fan, and various tubes and wires severed. Eventually noticed the belt tensioner has snapped clean off and must have been slung into the radiator tank, because that's leaking. At the dealership now awaiting diagnostics.
Ford Performance tune, aFe charge pipes, mishimoto intake, 3" turbo back. Think they'll tell me the mods caused this?

My biggest issue with Ford is there inability to admit when they have manufacturing or design issues and are will to lose thousands if not hundreds of thousands of Ford loyalist in order to save face. Just look how they handled the transmission issues across Ford Fiestas and Ford Focus's. There is a pattern of Ford ignoring failures that should have never happened in the first place. Not enough material, poor quality casting? Ford had similar problems with the oil pump housing on Lion V6 diesels which used to support the tensioner for the timing belt on one corner, that of course was an engine disaster then it snapped off. Later model oil pumps had reinforcing on that corner.
I’m not refuting anything you’re saying specifically, but I think this extends to basically every major OEM. Even Toyota is hush hush about the tundra stuff. My biggest issue with Ford is there inability to admit when they have manufacturing or design issues and are will to lose thousands if not hundreds of thousands of Ford loyalist in order to save face. That's true of most industries sadly. A friend in software engineering, said of software bugs, firstly deny, then try and blame the customer, then when that gets old, quietly fix the issue, release the fix in a routine update, and claim it never happened. At least he was honest.I’m not refuting anything you’re saying specifically, but I think this extends to basically every major OEM. Even Toyota is hush hush about the tundra stuff.
